I'll focus on this part since the other comments have your original concern covered.
This sounds like a job for a T-8 (400 tons), as the SCO drive will shorten that time span significantly. If you have the money to afford a carrier, I would alternatively suggest that you pre-load the materials onto the carrier, then jump the carrier to the delivery destination, and do round trips from there (you can then use a T-9 or an Imperial Cutter, which can move 700+ tons).
I once ended up with the carrier parked 500 kilometers from the colonization ship, and with a direct line of sight (trips were almost instant). Worst case scenario, it'll be parked around a planetary body, which is still much better than dealing with the distance you mentioned.
