Powerplay npc's at odyssey repair missions?
I'm not aligned to any particular power in ED but was doing some settlement restore missions and some of the missions had power play npc's that attack me when I'm trying to turn the power back on. Is their a way to not get a bounty doing these missions? The powerplay npc's where mixed in with scavs.

Yea, so what I've noticed is that sometimes you'll have friendlies at these bases and they do blend in with the enemies, especially because sometimes they don't engage them.

Therefore, you must have done something to tick them off like using an illegal tool to get into places.

Either way, at that point they will become hostile.

When you assume they are there and you scan the enemies before you shoot them, you'll notice them and they will remain friendly.

Someone said the developers did this so you don't just kill everyone with the SRV and if you do, you risk getting notoriety and a bounty for murdering an innocent NPC.
So yesterday one of my missions had 5 powerplay npc's and they engaged and killed all the pirates but weren't hostile towards me. While reactivating the reactor and waiting on the atmosphere panel power up so I can put out the fire. One of the power play npc's walked in and shot me in the back and killed me. 2 other missions had them attacking me as soon as I went in the power building forcing me to fight back and kill them. I had no weapons drawn when I got attacked. My only thought is the reactor area counts as a restricted area even though I was given legal access to repair the settlement.
This is another one of frontiers gameplay oversights that should be addressed.

They will turn hostile if they see you trespassing. Getting an ID - even officially - doesn't mean you have permission to wander around in secure areas.

If you want them to shoot all your enemies, btw, just confront a scav in line of sight of a powerplay guard. When the scav shoots at you, the guard will shoot at them. Then you can get in and restore the power while all the NPCs are distracted.

I get it but there shouldn't be a bounty for killing them. especially since all of the actual npc's on the site where murdered. They are extremly out of place in a mission where you are repairing and reactivating a settlement for a faction that owns it. its really dumb that they are just wondering around a site with wanted scav's who they engage as soon as one of the scavs starts shooting at me. The powerplay npc's are so out of place in this case that I really wonder if this is a bug that frontier didn't fix. Also why the heck do you get a bounty after killing a target in a covert mission and no one was nearby to see you do it. sorry for the rant but the way the systems work ingame bug me sometimes.
I wish frontier would go back and tweak some of this stuff. whats the point of stealth missions if everone is going to know you did it anyways.
Pretty sure this is a bug introduced with PP2. There shouldn't be PP NPCs at a shutdown settlement except scavengers.

Now, when you go to do one of those, you can't simply bomb the site to get rid of the scavs that arrive, because there might be some of those PP NPCs walking around, and then you get a bounty and noteriety.

Hope FD get around to fixing it... eventually.
The PP npc's at a shutdown settlement are really annoying, I try to sneak around them but since I'm after mats to trade for other mats I just don't care anymore. I'll just sort out everything at an interstellar factor later.
I'll lure the scavs to the pp npc's and just pick off who's left.
