I disagree. A small first station works fine for solo players, a first big station is for organised groups - or mad solo players.
A small station is about 20-25 round trips I think? Less than one load per day.
Same reason there's no button that kills all the ships in the vicinity. It's a game, you have to do the gameplay.

I've already built 2 stations and started more. I've helped others build theirs. I've been doing this stuff since the update launched, but the points you raise sound like complaints you heard on Youtube or from people with completely incorrect data.
