It's not quite that level of expense, from what I can tell so far. Claim cost is 25 million, and then there's tens of thousands of tons of commodities you need to buy, but you DO get paid for what you deliver. Can't tell if I'm making a profit or not, I'm too rich to care. It's a time sink, not a money sink.

At the end of things, you get a passive income from all of the systems you're architect to(which sounds awesome). Since you can't lose architect status, that's a permanent weekly income.
oh
thank you for the detailed info i appreciate it guess ill have to give it a go

Im pretty sure its not favoring the rich. The cost's are okay and and a carrier is not really necessary + i probably cant move my carrier for days since the servers are dying (carrier wise.) im pretty stuck right now and can not move it.

I just decides to claim a system which is ~200LY away from the bubble - this somewhat makes a carrier somewhat necessary - not really but its really helping depending on the location you clam

i am just waiting for peoples total cost on stations once that we have a estimate on each station then it will be easier to build.

damn looks like you need money. Im sitting on like 14.000.000.000. So if you wanna have like 2.000.000.000 or more just let me know i would take a little helper :)
Credits are usually not a problem in this game

You can deliver goods to other players systems. They'll be paying good money to avoid having to do all the hauling themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised if people put up billions of credits for grabs.

It is much cheaper, (25 million credits to start), but much more involved. Even a basic outpost will require you to haul 18,475 commodities of various sorts. Even with a Typ-9 or Cutter you are looking at a minimum of 24 cargo runs; realistically probably a few more. The higher end stations will require 53,723 (69 runs) and 209,119 (265 runs) in commodities.

Currently there is a severe shortage of CMM Composite, so you are going to be better off waiting a week or so for supply (and other) issues to sort themselves out.

This is something a lot of people have missed.

Everyone is thinking about creating their own colonies, and that's alright. That's the point. But there is a LOT of work that needs to be done, and there's deadlines too.
No reason not to help establish colonies others have claimed. They're not owners. It's not their turf.

It's actually going to be damn profitable to help pioneering efforts started by someone else.
i think as a new player your issue would be big enough ship, funds to buy big enough ship. But, as mentioned above, players will more than likely be willing to pay lots of money to save the time hauling materials. so maybe a few runs in a smaller ship pays for a new bigger one rather quickly.

That is my plan tonight. Idk if I am ready for to own a solar system yet dont even own a home.

Players can park their carriers somewhere, set up wild buy prices for the materials they need, and players wanting to earn money will be delivering the goods.

So it can be a money sink if you let it.
well with me and my friend made it to 17% in 2 days thats good atleast we been delivering stuff all day i calculated a bit and it seems that by day 10 it will be in a good position if we keep it up.
From experience, I can say that as of now, it doesn't favour me, a 2 month old player.

I can't even buy the System I want, because I get an error saying "System Claim Unsuccessful"....

It really is tragic.
