Inara, EDSM Etc

I've played this game for years but never ventured into linking my ED account to anything. So, I have some questions to which I would appreciate advice or information.

For buy/sell orders in Inara, I just link my Frontier account to Inara and set my carrier to buy/sell?

Do I have to link to EDSM and is it advised if I am already on Inara?

As an explorer I use Spansh to plot routes for the carrier. I would also like it to update new systems that I visit to their database. Do I have to link to this as well or is there a central node that updates all the ancillary sites? There are a lot of places to use.

To get your carrier onto Inara you need to be in-game, you need to open the Carrier Admin screen, and then you need to sync your inara account. They will pick up the fact you own that carrier, and will continue to update it afterwards.

If you set up a buy/sell on the carrier, I recommend you then open the carrier marketplace (to read the prices into your journal) and then sync with inara*

*You can only sync every 15 mins manually. But if you install ED Discovery and set that up correctly, it will update Inara for you in near realtime. You still need to add the carrier manually though.

ED Discovery will also update EDSM, ED Astro, etc.
