No access and used CD key!
Like many others before me I am experiencing problems with registering the game. According to the launcher I have no access to the game and according to the website my key was already used.

Is there another way to register maybe? Or do I have to wait for several days/weeks/months before I get a reply to my ticket, considering the fact it might vanish again?

I'm getting desperate...

Maybe search the myriad other posts like this one. I agree it's frustrating. Outlook puts the game code in spam etc. others get a never ending capcha loop, as your game cd key is used, you have progressed and are close to playing. Check your frontier shop account, maybe put your product code in there (as that's where you've used it). Should be under my downloadable items. If you actually read this reply and I'll try to help if you're stuck. As for raising a ticket up to a day maybe for response.

These are the steps I took:

- Downloaded the game via Steam
- Registered an account via the launcher, which already had my CD key in it (I have no recollection of ever creating an account with Frontier tho)
- Logged in at the launcher, which asked for an authorization code. After entering the code I was told I had no access to the game.
- Created a billing address on the Frontier account page
- Entered the CD key again, and was told it was already used
- Tried another browser on my other PC and got the error that the key was invalid

update: just got a reply to my Frontier ticket

Quote: There is currently an issue where the Steam service will automatically send you a previously used and subsequently revoked key if you purchase the game again after originally requesting a refund. We would advise contacting Steam to request a new key to replace the revoked key that they have sent you - https://support.steampowered.com/.

If you are still having any problems getting this to work, you can let us know the Steam CD key so that we can confirm that it's been previously used, however a new key will have to come from steam themselves.

So have you previously raised a refund with steam and then reordered? Or is your steam key "used" as you were following the install procedure? If its the later then Tiberius is still right. If still stuck google frontier store and enter the email and password you put into the launcher to see if it's under purchases.

I haven't asked for a refund, it was "used" following the install procedure. I will try what Tiberius suggested again.


Edit: When I start the game it says "training demo"

So no luck :(

Go to frontier store check if ed is bought. Use product key check my downloads, maybe install their launcher too. This was my ticketed response:

If you have not already done so, please login using the link below and enter the code on the Product Access Key section your account page:

You should also have Elite: Dangerous there under 'My Downloadable Items'. So if you want to launch without steam you can download our launcher from there.

Another thing to note is that during busy periods there may be a delay in receiving your code email.

Please check your email address, junk folder and any spam filters that may be preventing you from receiving them. You may wish to add the following email addresses to your email whitelist to ensure that our emails are not being blocked:

no-reply@elitedangerous.com
We have experienced some problems with certain email providers not receiving the automated code emails. I would recommend trying a different email address should the above not fix the issue.

ED isn't under 'My Downloadable Items' and I'm unable to enter the key on the store page. I've received about 20 emails with the authorization code in it, but it's not being accepted. The game was bought via Steam.

I think you can enter the steam key on the frontier store website. You haven't created two frontier store accounts have you....... I know I did, if so check the other account too.

As soon as I enter the key I get the message it was already used. I also checked all my email addresses for any registration with Frontier, but alas... :(

I'll have to wait for a reply on my tickets at Steam and Frontier

So it doesn't show up on my orders? But you registered a account on the launcher? You've not got the Xbox version as well have you?

I registered an account, via the launcher I started with Steam and it already had my key in it. I only have the PC version, via Steam. No other accounts whatsoever...

Sorry I'm about done then. So you've tried entering the cd key on your f.store site under access keys and it says it's been used. You've no other f.store accounts. You could optimistically purchase ed on store site and entered steam key in payment section. Don't think there's any - in codes on f. Store. You can sign into your f.store using a browser. You've tried re entering your f.store log in details on steam launcher.

Sorry I had similar problems, but resolved after two f. Tickets and 97 minutes in total frustration. I was getting code after capcha code on iPad none worked got a capture code on laptop and it worked after being dredged from spam. Ended up in a similar state to yours.

Surely steam hasn't sold you a pre-enjoyed code. Sorry think I'm done.
