Inverted Y Axis
Yeah the title says it all. I just want to play with the Y axis inverted. So how is that done in the overtly complex controls. I can't be bothered/shouldn't have to, learn how to change a simple control.

Go to Controls in Options, and read the list carefully and patiently. There is a option just for what you want and a lot more.

If you don't have patience to read the control options at the menu, you'll have a hard time in Elite... =P

Think of it as a matter of time management.

Nonetheless, you'll have to scroll the list of controls till you get to the "Invert Y Axis" option. =P
It's not me making it difficult for you, it is a matter of: there is no saving time in Elite hahahaha

There isn't one... I would think that invert pitch would invert the Y axis but no... hence asking for assistence for which you haven't been.

Change this to "On":

Edit: If this does not work (i didn't understand if you already tried this), then you can always change the binding to do the opposite manually.
If even that does not work, then you got a broken controller/keyboard/peripheric.

Just wanted to say, Akira. You're a nice and patient chap.

This is a little late, but for any new players like me that came looking for this (and found multiple "look harder" responses) go in to
+ Controls
+ Mouse Controls
and look for Mouse Y Axis dropdown. In there, there's an option to have the pitch inverted.

Because honestly when people ask a specific question, it's because they want a simple and quick answer.

Thanks Spartan. I'd almost given up. That this dropdown inverted the y axis as well was hidden. For the replies with the snark I played 100s of hours of the original elite on my acorn archimedes. Asking questions about the control layout doesnät mean youäre somehow not dedicated enough to play the game.

You will go far in this game with that attitude.

Since this was 3 YEARS AGO you can find out exactly how far he indeed managed to go. This thread is still helpful, hopefully won’t be locked, no matter how far to dust its bones have gone.

Wow Akira, that's a bit of jackassery my dude. I have to agree. Initially the control settings seemed a bit daunting. I just started playing this and I IMMEDIATELY noticed I need to invert my flight controls. In fact...I ALWAYS INVERT.....mouse, stick, doesn't matter. The solution did not immediately jump out at me. You remind me of Nick Burns the company computer guy from SNL. That guy was a complete tool bag. A douche ass tool bag. Thanks Bruce for keeping it 100.
