If you're using a ship that has immensely weak hull, might be worth considering installation of reinforcement packages
I can't upgrade the hull anymore and I'm using the Python MK2.
I barely get any damage, the first interdiction keeps me at 100%, but when I go to repair it does show up as damaged. So for me the problem isn't even the damage I take, it's more that I wasn't sure if I could interdict smoothly.
I thought I'm doing something wrong, but at this point I ran out of ideas, since I always tried slowing down as much as possible then completing the interdiction, starting the interdiction while barely moving (allowing the target to pass me and interdict time at 30km/h). However, I'm out of ideas.
So I guess it is not possible to interdict anyone without getting your ship tossed around?
If they fight your interdiction attempt and lose, you both take damage.
If they win, they escape unharmed while you drop and take damage.
If they submit, they drop without taking damage but you still do.
Noted!
One thing you can do to reduce the damage taken from interdicting is slow it down.
You may have heard the computer say "Reel them in, nice and slow" or something like that. After hearing it i decided to test out slowing down my ship and not trying to beat them too quicky. Common wisdom says to keep it in the blue, but i've found it best to slowly bring your throttle to zero and when you win the interdiction you tend to come out of it with a lot less damage (often zero) and much less loss of control, allowing you to recover and start hitting the target quicker.
Yeah, emergency drop from close to 4000C isn't fun.
It wouldn't surprise me if they did this, so that when you successfully interdict, the person doing the interdiction doesn't get the advantage of being right behind the person getting interdicted. This way, they all get scrambled, have to look at the radar and then orient themselves. I guess that's fair.
I wonder how many times did that small amount of damage, actually cost one or the other to lose the fight.
Beltalowda!
I keep remembering that scene. It was fabulous.
Too bad they messed up the last season.
Definitely bummed that despite all the mystery in that show, they focused on boring human issues and terrorism.
I've just started reading the books, after I picked up Leviathan Wakes about two days ago... So far the tv series appears to have stuck VERY close to the source material... If I remember, I'll let you know if that still holds true once I'm on the later books...
The end of the last series, is NOT the end of the story... It's about half way through I think, I read somewhere that the tv series is based on the first four or five books... There's nine.
Yea they had difficulties with the filming, budget cuts and cancellations, so the approach they took was most likely impacted by these drawbacks unfortunately. :(
I'm working on entering this industry and this would be one of many projects I'd try to breathe life into.
