Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous

New raw and encoded materials locations
After half a year I decided to come back to Elite and ofc first I started griding engineers. What surprised me greately that grade 5 materials are now easily accessible and found by hundreds within one High Grade Emission zone.

My question is, are there new places where I can find the same amount of raw and encoded materials? Or is it worse with those?

you can look at the mission board, the rewards o materials are much more now.
you can pledge to a power and gain powerplay care packets with materials.
on top of this required mats for engineering are lower than before.
good times for engineer things :D
I took notes about this not long ago, after finding how HGE zones currently are. This seems to be the current meta in terms of collecting materials directly, but I haven't seen the raw/encoded sites, so I don't know if their buff is as ridiculously big as the manufactured one.

MANUFACTURED MATERIALS
High Grade Emissions

ENCODED MATERIALS
HIP 12099 1B (Jameson Crash Site)

RAW MATERIALS
Orrere planet 2B (crashed Anaconda)
Koli Discii C6a (crashed Anaconda)
Hip 16613 1A (crashed Anaconda)

Mission rewards now also give more materials than before. Also something about brain trees that I haven't looked into yet.

It pretty much rains engineering materials almost as much as it rains credits now...

I guess I'll check out good old anaconda sites and if they are bust I'll just switch to my conda for some bounty missions

Brain tree farming (raw mats) was not buffed AFAIK. However, farming them with a remote release flak launcher and limpets is pretty fast anyway.

The crashed condas were buffed though. There are 15-16 cargo racks with loads of raws each.

they do indeed have quite a lot of racks. Sadly they are not as quick to pick up as limpet farming manufactured materials :D

Agreed. I tried limpets on them myself after breaking the racks open with the ship, but the terrain is too uneven.
Back when raw materials were farmed from meteorites and outcrops, I stumbled upon a planet with the highest amount of polonium I´ve seen - ~4.2 or 5.1% or so (can´t recall the exact value unfortunately). It wasn´t far from the populated areas of the Bubble, and its polonium content wasn´t listed on eddb either, nor were there any known equivalents. I thought I still had this planet/moon it in my bookmarks but alas - so might as well just dismiss this as "cool story bro".

I quite liked the crashed Anacondas for Antimony at the time - now, apparently, it´s even better. Then IIRC came barnacles, crystal shards, brain trees and whatever other exploity get-all-in-one-place minmax methods for the new low-attention-span instant gratification casualties.

Probably for the best still. Although getting some mats feels absolutely effortless now - like entering a cheat code.

After seeing this thread I paid a visit to crashed Conda site in Koli Discii for an alt account. I think I will stick with Brain tree farming in the future, the trip is longer, but the gathering is not nearly as tedious. I can't even imagine what it was like when there were only a couple of racks to break every cycle.

Not finding the conda at Orrere

The Conda is there at Orrere. you probably landed at the wrong signal. I think it's called Crashed ship, but i can't remember.

Yes, crashed ship. If you bring a DSS and map the planet, it will pop up and you don't need to fly by coordinates (which is a PITA IMO).
