Pilot federation discrict permit removed
Hi all. I'm a new user, i'm not expert on this game. I've started to play and now my Pilot Federation District permit it's been removed. I would have a question if is possible: The fact is that:
1)i've got just some hours of playing.. could be 20 or something like this.. i don't remember exactly but the computer was on when i was searching on google, make graphics settings, so the effective hours played are less.
2)i've not a good practise in docking manually, because i've used often the auto dock. Fortunagtely i don't use other automatic commands.. just this.
3)the most important.. i've got a sidewinder, the jump range is about 7 LY, from here i see almost only long distance missions. More difficult missions. Also i've got only 2 of limited space i can't make big commerce missions.
What could be useful for me to make now? i don't have enough credit to buy expansive ships.. and also, i'm not expert, i wouldn't like to risk to spend too much and destroy it, loose all.. for not enough experience.

What's happened is you've landed somewhere outside the district after having gained a rank in something. Probably trade, as it only takes a single data delivery mission to tip you into Mostly Penniless.

Doing this will see your permit revoked. I take it you took a certain 100k credit reward mission? Seems to be the usual bait for this.

It's a very common trap new players find themselves stuck in.

The good news is this: Those data delivery missions are found almost everywhere. Don't fret about the lack of cargo because data jobs don't require cargo racks. You can use these to build up some funds to put together a ship with higher capacity. Or build something else entirely like a combat ship.

As for the docking. There is a tutorial scenario that allows you to practice just this. You can find it on your right-hand panel, or via the main menu. Take the time to use and become familiar with the process.

You can try out some of the tutorials available from the right hand panel in the cockpit.
Training. Another good bit is reading and or having read aloud parts of the codex.

I recommend you stay in solo for now until you learn the difference between low wake and high wake, as well as why "Target next system in route" is the most imortant keybind in the game.

Youtube has tons of tutorials too.

cheers

Courier and delivery missions are the most simple and easy missions to do. You can do a handful of those to explore various starports and get more familiar with piloting. If you're worried about pirates attacking you, don't take the ones with cargo.

After enough of those you could look at getting a better ship - hauler, adder and cobra are all good choices, depending on what you'd like to do.

Just a fair warning - your ship, even newly purchased ones, will be very weak until you spend tons of credits outfitting it. I'd save combat for until you are way above the rebuy cost.

Remember rule #1: Never fly without a rebuy. If you die without enough credits in your account to cover the insurance costs of the ship you're in you will be given a stock sidewinder. This is a bad thing when you've invested in upgrading your ship or in a new ship altogether.
flying/landing...
There is throttle, forward and back( obviously) but, you also have thrusters. I have my throttle and thrusters set up in a WASD type set up. To manually land, I dont use throttle, I use the thrusters. Practice going up/down/left/right/forward/back. An older video I watched said go to an asteroid field and fly around without using throttle, thrusters only. It really helped.

I use auto docking all the time, but sometimes it breaks and I do own a few ships without it.

Yes, i've received a message: congratulation commander. You've earned the rank of Mostly Penniless in the field of trade.
A next message is: Congratulation Commander! In recognition of your recent success, the Pilot Federation as goven you the rank to Peddler.
The next message say about the permit removed.. and say that ship and all things i have could be delivered in another station under request.
So.. i cannot come back to Dromi and Matet withouth permission now. Is also written on the left panel when i want to travel.

I took only about 30k mission about.. except the first was exploring, this are delivery or commerce missions.. but i've made different missions continuosly..
Now i'm in Fermat City in Hollatja. I'm there because i had to complete a mission to take some sugar and bring it to Dromi station.. now i will not complete this mission.

Yeah those two systems are part of the district. In the galaxy map you'll note that they have an orange icon over them. Any system with that icon is now off-limits to you. There is no way to gain access again, other than well, wiping save.

Ah... I see the problem. Source and return, right? Can't be anything else because the district doesn't offer missions to deliver things outside it, other than the 100k farewell job you'll be offered after getting a rank.

How do I know this? Wiped save... Many times.

forgive me because I did make an assumption there, but it is based on a lot of previous explanations to new players about what happened. Is usually that one.

I would have a question on this if is possible: there are some delivery missions, but are a bit far. For example: deliver 2 units of polimers. Iman Caber. 19 LY.
I have a 7LY Jump range. How could i make this mission, if is possible? Sorry but i'm not really expert on long travel.. from Dromi i usually selected short travel missions.
Courier job is also far from here.. Iman Caber 19LY minimum distance. Other are also more distant.

Correct. Was source and return mission. I've had to take some sugar. I watched in the map the nearest station where buy it and bring to Dromi and started.. i didn't know this.

On the data delivery jobs: The only two things you need to get for this is a better FSD, and at size 2 even a D-rated one will get you to the best part of 10ly. If anyone says travelling with this is impossible, they're either spoiled by high jump range or just suck. Also, buy a fuel scoop so that you can refuel from stars. Do note that not all stars can be scooped. Only those that start with any of these letters: KGBFOAM. And yes I use that anagram to recall them. Also, you'll see if a system has a scoopable before jumping to it anyway on your HUD.

Something else you could do to make money.

If you have a RES (They are found in asteroid belts around planets) near you, hop into it, provided it's not listed as hazardous. Here lots of ships will spawn. Make sure you have no cargo. When some police ships show up, follow them. Eventually they'll start shooting a pirate. When they do, join in. You'll have enough to buy a whole new ship after a couple of kills, frankly.
OP i recommend you buy a fuelscoop asap; that way you won't end up stranded.
(as long as you also familiarise yourself with scoopable star that is =)

For the most part your questions have been answered, but I'd be more than happy to join up with you in-game to help show you some of the ropes and get some credits rolling in. If you're interested feel free to shoot me a friend request.

Yes, i'll try to buy one, in a station where i can make it. Where i am now seem not possible. Anyway at the moment i have a limited budget.. i would like also to find the most economic ones, i just would like to have a little bit more autonomy. I wouldn't need for the moment to make very long travels.
Sometimes i also divide the travels in 2 parts if i have poor autonomy, for example: when i had to go from Orna to Matet. I went from Orna to Dromi that is neared, dock in Dromi station and from there started and gone to Matet. It seem a bit longer, but for the first time it made me really relaxed to don't risk to remain withouth fuel.
I would like also for the moment try to find missions not longer that 12/14 LY if is possible.
