Quest 3 ED review
Got my new headset yesterday, I was starting to have some general problems with the HP G2.
After spending more than a few hours last night trying to wrap my head around everything this thing can do, I finally played ED and man, the sharpness of those pancake lenses compared to the fresnel lenses is amazing, the colors look crisper everything is much sharper I can read every panel just glancing at them, I even got a little queezy leaving a station because of all the details which were a blur with my G2 but now my eyes were fixing on them and whoo! lol. Sound isn't bad either the base lacks a little OOmph but it's alright.

The comfort though.... holy crap, you can clearly see the put everything on the hardware for the price, it's to say the least uncomfortable but I had the great idea to get a third party strap for it when I ordered it... I should've thought of the face pad too, there's pressure on some part of the face, it becomes uncomfortable after an hour or so meaning you want to move it, it hurts. But all in all headset wise... it's better than my G2, the hands free part blew and still blows my mind, just pointing and pinching your index and thumb to select is friggin awesome lol (look ma, no controllers loll)
Getting Steam to work on it was easy and once you play a game once, it goes into your meta menu, so all you have to do is enable your steam link go to your meta game menu and click your game and it starts just like it used to on steam

So if any of you ever gets one, be prepared to also buy a head strap and a face pad, other than that you'll absolutely positively love it.

I made the mistake of buying a quest 3 to replace my index, because all my instruments in MS flight sim were blurry unless I really leaned in. I wanted something higher resolution. what I wasn't expecting is how LAGGY it is. displayport on the index works perfectly, always smooth. but the quest 3 only works over wifi, and sure the image is sharper but the motion SUCKS because of the frame latency. plus the battery life is terrible, even when playing while plugged in

I use a 'charge while you play' cable with the original charger from the quest 3 and since I've plugged it in to charge the battery initially, it never went lower than 70% so far.
I don't know your specs but I've experienced 0 latency, movement are the same as when I had my G2 plugged into the video card via display port. Sorry to hear you have problems

Most home routers are too slow for proper VR
You will probably have to buy a separate router for VR

This is what I use instead of WIFI not that great (although you get used to it I always played cabled) for games where you stand and turn but anything sitting down is the same as a plugged in headset
1-You plug in the little box of the cable with your original headset charger and cable, 2- then the headset 3- then plug it in your computer (USB-3 or higher) and enable cable link. (not WIFI) It will charge while you play

Btw, it's definitely better to have your comp " wired " to your router instead of using wifi

i'm having an issue with the screen shifting up and down when i look up and down. most games fix this once you recalibrate yourself or the headset. i cant seem to find a fix just wondering if you've ran across anything like it.

You can create a Elite Dangerous shortcut in your desktop and add this at the end of the EDLaunch.exe at the Target tab.

/vr /autoquit
I'll launch Elite and bypass Steam and go right to your game with Meta

"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\EDLaunch.exe" /vr /autoquit
I put Meta as my OVR Runtime
oh the face pad is something i should swap out im finding the bobo headstrap isnt comfy for quest 2 but im wondering if it the face pad surronding the lenses

I've had this on no man's sky, even with just one eye, not just up down but any time any side I moved my head it was like I was stoned or something lol. I gave up on that game in VR it's so full of bugs for VR it's ridiculous.
But it's the only game I can't play VR. It's not a hardware issue I can reassure you on that, I have a pretty good rig (specs in my profile) Has to be a sync issue with the headset I haven't found the problem yet
