AFK graphics glitch.

anyone else experiencing a graphics problem when you leave your ship for 10 hours or so, when you try and use the menus it splits or, or the graphics shows the ship in parts

i get a strange random thing once in a while, its like the HUD is there, but im out in space with no ship. Cant recreate it to report as a bug, so I just restart when it happens.
Takes a while, not 10 hours, but quite a bit of time

My fps gets slower and slower in a RES over an hour or so. probably the hundreds of escape pods that don't despawn (although NPCs will pick them up nowadays)

ill try to take a screen shot the next time it happens and see if it captures. its really odd if he and I are experiencing the same thing.

Sgt- What video card do you have AMD of Nvidia? AMD seems to have some rather unique, um, nuances when it comes to elite.

Graphics issuie when going afk

Hello all, when I leave my computer on, and go afk to work, I get back and I try and move the camera or something, the ship looks disoriented, and the graphics looks all glitch.. like.. my ship lights, are on my screen..

You being afk probably triggers the OS to run some background and cleanup tasks, despite the game still running and taking up resources. Those tasks probably cause some corruption.

Does the game sort itself out? Or do you have to restart?

Hold on a second..

You boot up the game, play, then afk with the game running while you go to work? So the game is running 5+ hours afk?

Why not just turn off your PC, you'd be doing it good.

Because I want to continue where I left off that’s not the issue the issue is why the graphics are messing up when I afk it’s not my PC

I have to restart the game in order for it to be fixed

That makes no sense. When you log back in, you are where you were when you logged out.

Unless your notoriety is through the roof and it's going to take days to clear, there's no point to leaving it running...

yeah, something weird happens when I go afk for an extended period. No longer in control of my ship, and it's almost like a free look camera that isn't that free to move.

That sounds almost exactly like the time my ship was blown up while i was boarding it with the SRV. The boarding animation never completed. The ship was no more.
I had it targetted so i could see it's shields and hull going down but.

After it was gone, the SRV was in mid-air, and it felt like i could control a free look camera but not interact with anything. Or switch off free look.


I doubt it's a video memory error, though i cannot say what kind of error it is.
Server desync, or memory leak maybe?

How busy is the system you parked your ship in?
It's possible NPC garbage piles up uncollected. Normally you leave a system, it's flushed and a new one generated.

Or it may be an instance issue where you are not at fault but something that happens because of another player.

Maybe gpu memory temps spiked while afk ? What are ur temps befor and after afk?

just go in the menu or exit the game if you're going afk for an extensive time, stop torturing your poor pc lol
