Fleet Carrier question
When you initially buy your carrier, does it come with some fuel? How much?

500 units already in the tank if memory serves.

yup, just got mine few weeks ago. Half tank of gas comes stock.

Tritium not super expensive either, though I'd hazard you save up an extra bill on top of the carrier for expenses. That'll account for more than a few tanks of gas(doesn't go like crazy anyways, like you'd need to be constantly hopping it around to go through one in a week in my experience), plus some upgrades and then ofc the rent for a good while.

Oh and rem if you're just going to use it solo, stuff like fleet services and outfitting are automatic for the owner, just need buy if want hook up your buddies for other stuff. Some things like repair and re-arm tho you need to buy for everyone.

Hope my ramblings help lol o7 :D

What would be the use of a FC in solo, no one can land on it buy from you or you selling to others...

I believe fleet carriers are present in open too, your ship can always been seen, just not you in Solo.

Yep, they're like space stations. Everyone can use them, unless you set docking permission to none/friends/squadron only.

Cool thanx for the info guys

Carrying all your ships / modules around ? This is actually really convenient. A luxury maybe, but after a while, money is not a problem anymore.

Yeah that's what they all say but I think I have to mine for a while first to cut on the costs lol

You can sell ships and modules from your fleet carrier. Not your own, you buy stock to sell. You can also buy/sell Odyssey engineering materials through the bar. And you can sell basic suits/weapons through Pioneer Supplies. You can set your own prices at the bar, and you can apply a tariff to everything else.

And then there's the convenience of taking your entire fleet and all your modules with you wherever you go...

It's good for mining support. Go and mine a load of resources that you can get high paying missions for (gold/silver/bertrandite/osmium/tritium etc), fill your carrier up then park it next to a station that's offering those missions.

Exobiology out in the black is extremely lucrative if you hunt for the high value signatures such as Stratum Tectonicas. Its 19.5m a full scan and its 5x the value if you're first to scan.

I've collected close to 4 billion and I'm hoping to have enough here in the next 4 hours, then i'll make my 6000ly journey back.

I'm pretty far out now, still looking but so far no luck on planets with plants

Stratum Tectonicas is what you want to focus on if you strictly want money. They are only on HMC worlds (High Metal Content). Use third party tools to help you such as Elite Observatory with the Bio-insights and Evaluator plugin.

You need to go out at least 2000ly to consistantly find undiscovered worlds if you want those first footfalls to get the 5x bonus. Other wise you can just go to Spansh.co.uk to find already discovered Stratum and get the 19.5m for each full scan.

Thing is, if you play Elite long enough you end up with more money than most IRL countries.

Until Colonisation gets here, there's nothing else to spend it all on.
If your having problems finding planets to scan, use this site-https://spansh.co.uk/exobiology

(as was mentioned a few posts ago), just put in a system, set your parameters and you will have a WHOLE list of places to visit.

It took me around 4 months to save the 5 billion for my FC (I only play 1-2 hours a day), and like others have mentioned, if $$$ is your goal, then Starus Tectonic is the way to go. Course, if you find another sample really close then grab it!!! The grass type plants (can't think of the name), varies in price, different kinds can get you around 7 million and you only need to travel 150 meters to find a new sample. I've 30 million more then once in about 7-8 minutes.
