Return from an APEX shuttle trip
Brand new to the game. I was experimenting with taking an APEX shuttle from my original position to the Ryananski Outpost. Did that successfully. Now, how do I get back since i don;t remember the name of the base I came from?

Is there a travel log or some sort of record i can access?

I am playing on a PC with the Odyssey version.

If you own a ship, you should see a yellow symbol on galaxy map where you left it.

If you can't use the GalMap filters well enough yet to see it & have some Cr, go on-foot > lift > concourse > Inter Astra ship seller > request your owned ship transferred to your locale.
(If Ryananski hasn't one, take a taxi to an orbital that has!)

There is a session log on the right-hand panel...of your ship.

If on foot, hold Q (assuming qwerty keyboard) and then in the left part of the pop-up menu find "navigation", From there open galaxy map.

If you own a ship it should appear as a yellow icon, if you don't...maybe there are dotted lines retracing your session movements.

edit : didn't see the time of the topic creation, hopefully you found out since then.

On the Galmap theres a button for your ships on the left side. Take a taxi and set your ship as waypoint. I always did this when i woke up in prison. Because if you try to start with your own ship from prison youll get shot instantly because there is still a bounty on you. I love this mechanix :spacepony:

If all else fails, exit to main menu, click Help, and the option on the right is 'stuck recovery' which will put you back in your ship in space.

It's more of a get out of jail free card than a gameplay feature, but it works. (If your ship was destroyed you'll still have to rebuy it)

I´m playing since 8 years on my frontier acc and i didnt know that. Thats pretty helpful. Nice :steamthumbsup:

It was added when they split Odyssey off from Legacy, and Odyssey players could no longer boot into Horizons (live) to get their ship back when they got stuck on foot (the old fix)

Nowadays Odyssey players CAN run live as well, but many don't know about the menu fix.

Btw. The reasons to get in prison are sometimes really weird. I took my beluga to fly some rich girl around. Turned out that shes some kind of mobster. Got scanned after leaving the station and they opened fire instantly. Bought back my beluga and wanted to take off from prison. Got destroyed again. So i alway took taxis. But now, with this workaround...thats easy. Thank you.

If you have a bounty when you're killed, you go to prison. (Not sure about fines, but maybe.)

If you got killed you still have the Bounty, The only way to pay a fine is to go to the faction that set the bounty on you. But dont even think you can just go there. Yap the bounty. They will kill you. So the only way to get into a station from that faction is by taxi. this game is all about learning. I just bought it on steam because in germany the only way to buy arx is via credit card. here on steam i can pay with whatever i want. i only hope i can sign into my frontier acc from steam. I just trying to figure out how to get into SOL. I just got killed because its a restricted area. I never stop learning. :lunar2019grinningpig:

some stations have a service called "Interstellar Factor" in their contacts section. This guy will allow you to pay off fines and bounties for any faction, but they charge a fee on top of the payoff.

Sol permit requires Federation rank (petty officer specifically), then dock at a federation station nearby

OOPS i´ve grinded imperial to get that useless cutter. now i know ive should have gone ferderal for the covette. But that fits perfect. Grinding the rank for the corvette should also bring me to sol. i just need to google that grind system for federal. imperial was ez. the fee is no problem. i´ve got around 400 million right now. in the end i gonna sell the cutter. i couldnt even leave the system in wich i bought it because of its low jump range. since then i´ve tried to find a better fsd for it...no luck. Even inara said that the next better is around 5000ly away. So its the ferderation for now. Another time big thanks to you.

The Cutter will jump about 45 with a guardian FSD booster and engineered FSD.

It's my favourite laser miner/cargo ship.

It uses a class 7 FSD I think? They'll be all over the bubble, and especially at Power stronghold carriers for your chosen power.
