32 button limit???
Why is a game like Elite Dangerous, which is constantly being updated, still limited by an outdated API that is stuck at a 32 button input limitation? I just got a new F-15EX throttle grip for my Winwing HOTAS that has so many extra buttons and switches... and I can't even use most of them!. What is up with that? Yes, there are ways around that but I shouldn't have to. Most every other flight or space sim has a newer API that isn't limited like that. C'mon FD, get with the program!

It's a game that originally released in 2014. Swapping out an API and not breaking everything is not always that simple.

I'm sure it detects all 38 on my right VKB...? (30 + 8 HAT directions - Edited because I thought it was set to a 4 way HAT, it's an 8 way).

Are you using them linked as one device? Don't do that. Or using Xinput, instead of Dinput?

This.....that's a niche requirement, game didn't have it on release, probably never will. If you want an answer, post over in the official forums, where devs are more active.

Or better yet, post it to the "issue tracker". I searched there and there were a couple of issue tickets already submitted, but it looks like they expired. So create a new one.

In other words, this is a re-hashed issue.

I am pretty sure its a windows limitation not elite, windows game controller is limited to 32 inputs per controller and this is what elite dangerous uses to determine whats connected when you start elite dangerous this is what I gathered from google a few years back
joystickgremlin is the way to go ....

I think more accurately, it's an Xinput issue; rather than a Windows issue.

If you use Dinput instead, they seem to work fine (native support for up to 8 axes and 128 buttons, compared to Xinputs 4 axes and 32 buttons).
