SRV Scarab - Wave Scanner missing

I did not play ED for a certain while. Now I came back to the game and realize that the Wave Scanner in my Scarab SRV is missing.
The scanning area was always displayed above the radar area, but now there is nothing displayed anymore above the radar. So it's impssible to find ressources on planets.

The scanner is activated under the modules and status is 100%.

Did ED change something in the meanwhile? Is there a way to bring the wave scanner back?

ive been cruising around in the scarab lots , the radar is still there.

Try verifying game files; it does sound highly irregular.

Might want to clear the graphics settings folder and restart if it's been that long:

Uhhh, thank you. Indeed i'm driving a Scorpion. I thought I have only the Scarab - equiped my ship with a stored hangar with a SRV and did not remember that I also bought a Scorpion a certain time ago.

What threw me was the mention of the wave scanner in Modules.

It's called 'Scanner' in the modules. But I thought this must be the Wave Scanner.

I always found the Scorpion amusing... despite being an Odyssey release, its main gun is way too inaccurate to be useful against man-sized targets, and its only use is as a missile launcher against Guardian sentinels (or against Scarabs I guess, which the AI never uses).

Keep holding the fire trigger - it starts as inaccurate, then refines its targeting and becomes more accurate. It's by design.

I could do this... orrrrr.... I could simply pull the trigger on a Scarab's turret and kill the dude long before the Scorpion's turret fires enough shots to land a single hit. Plus you still have to be super close to hit humans with the Scorpion because unlike the Scarab, its plasma shots have a slow-ish travel time and aren't hitscan.

It's very easy to wipe out entire settlements with the Scarab at long range without anyone getting close enough to start shooting at you. The best (and only) sniper weapon in the game is a dang SRV turret.

The Scarab is quite brittle compared to the Scorpion, which in turn really shines with two CMDRs on board and also versus revenants.

Larger groups of higher level enemies will throw nades at the scarab and that is it.
