I spend most of my time in mediums - Krait Mk II, Python(s), Mandalay - and the rest in small ships (DBX, Vulture.)
The other problem with a large ship is the automatic filtering out of half the places I want to dock, and the fact you can be left vulnerable to Hydras when trying to land at a ground port AXCZ.
So, my dream ship would be a large medium with a decent jump range and lots of weapons. Sleek, manoeuvrable and deadly. I guess I need to buy yet another Krait Mk II.
They haven't mentioned anything at all beyond the four new ships we have now.
That could be the legendary Panther Clipper. Oh I hope so.
I think there will be a CG using titan wreckage soon, which will SCO-tune all the old ships.
It maneuvers surprisingly well, and can have great thermals, which is nice for not attracting attention. (Yeah, you really don't want to fight in one.) Being limited to large pads only is fine if you are hauling pax around.
I'd agree with this list as well, although I'm waiting on the Mandalay.
My reaction to getting a Krait Mk II recently for AX is "why didn't I get one earlier?" While the rebuy cost is significant, the rewards of AX justify it. Unless you bollux matters and fail to earn the rebuy cost....
I built an ax krait and an ax chieftain 2-3 years ago, tried them both, then parked the chief.
The latter is great for AX ground missions (power restores), but the Krait for me is the king of AX combat.
For me, the Krait is pretty much the king of all types of combat. Love that ship. For me it strikes the right balance between speed, maneuverability, shields, hull, and weapon damage.
A silhouette that isn't your average space triangle, or plane with extra bits.
A non-central cockpit that juts way out to one side Millennium Falcon style.
I know we already get this to some extent but; Lots of moving, spinning, greebly things like vents, flaps, pistons, hatches etc.
Maybe something built in such a way that it's easier to get through the mail slot rotated 90 degrees, maybe the cockpit rotates when the landing gear is deployed( but then again maybe it DOESN'T rotate, giving more reason to use that auto-dock computer)
I don't care all that much about the in game functions of ships, their internal loadouts and such. For me it's all about feel/vibe/cool factor.
But the Cobra MkV seems to be exactly what you want...?
Base Courier speed is 280 m/s - Boost speed 381 m/s
Base Cobra mkV speed is 294 m/s - Boost speed 415 m/s
Courier agility is 144 (Similar to Python Mk2)
Cobra MkV agility is 201 (The new best in the game - omg!)
Sure - the Cobra is heavier, but you'd never know it when flying it!
(Also, I always loved the Cobra's iconic cockpit...But the Asp's have always been my favourite)
