Module storage isn't Odyssey specific so yes, you get the increase.
No,w if you are talking about legacy Horizons, then I'm afraid not as that no longer receives any kind of update, including this storage increase.
Happy to help.
-they did a ton of work and are in the process of adding more colour to planets like they did during the streamlining phase in Horizons back in 3.5.
The fps requirements have been lowered by a margin, i can't tell you if it's enough in your case however.
Legacy also means you're missing out on the new ships, the engineering re-work, new FSD's, new power play, thargoid war, and the upcoming system colonization feature.
Unless you like flying inside deep cliffs for hours or your PC is just older, I don't think legacy is worth it tbh. It's just an outdated version of the game where your progress can't transfer.
I wouldn't lose sleep missing those features. The T8 looks cool but I don't see myself using it anyhow. I may put my combat account on 4.0 for the module storage and engineering, but defs not my explorer account. Zero interest in finding EDO worlds.
Of course staying on legacy is an option, but remember that none of your progress will transfer into live.
Yep, whenever I land on an EDO world I find myself wishing it was more beige, just like good old Legacy.

Whenever I land on an EDO world, I find myself wishing that the terrain was composed almost entirely of massive cliffs and trenches that you have to drive around for hours to find a way to traverse, just like good old Legacy.
Awesome screenshots, btw.
Also, I was under the impression that a lot of the new features are Odyssey exclusive and that Horizons Live isn't getting all of them?
Either way, for anyone else reading along the thread: from the moment Odyssey launched, I have not been able to get myself to play without it. I've tried going back to Legacy a couple of times for different reasons and I just can't do it. It feels like half the game is missing, for one, and the new planet generation tech trumps the old one in every possible way.
It was a serious loss to racing events. Even more so now with the news ships that outright do not exist in Legacy.
However, given Frontier has never so much as commented on adding any kind of built-in support for racing, rendering the activity reliant on a degree of trust in other players (there goes my interest), it's pretty clear that it's not a considered factor.
Given that activities on planets has never been marketed to suggest racing, I think that's fair, epecially as everything else has improved greatly thanks to the new planet generation.
I've likely spent several orders of magnitudes worth of time on planets since Odyssey releases on planets, then I ever did prior.
You're thinking about hooning, I'm pretty sure. That's where people go flying around at break-neck speeds and yes, the old planet generation tech with its jagged (and obviously noise-generated) peaks and deep trenches were better for that. I did spend a few months after Odyssey released trying to help the hooners find some planets they could fly on.
There's still plenty of canyons and such that would be great for racing, though. I've even seen one world that had several criss-crossing trenches that would be great for racing, since you can reconfigure the track when needed.
I don't know about Frontier not wanting to help with racing, as I haven't been involved with that scene. I'd like to think that if there was enough interest, they'd do something. You'd think they'd consider it at least, given that both the Mamba and FDL are supposed to be built on racing-ship frames.
Same. In Horizons, after the novelty of being able to drive on the surface of worlds wore off, the only reason I ever went driving on planets was when I needed engineering mats. Otherwise I skipped it. Since Odyssey came out though, sometimes I'll go for a drive just to take in the sights.
