Ship engine sounds.

Anyone noticed that certain ship engine sounds sounds remarkably like some real life vehicles?

The vulture throttle sounds kind fo like a drag racer to me, ro some other sort of American muscle car.

The Imperial Courier looks and reminds me of say certain MIG jets.


The Asp I just rebrought because I can't really afford to keep flying a clipper seems to sound like a p-51 mustang or a simliar era loud American fighter aircraft.

The Imp Courier looks like a jetfighter too, inside and out. Love that ship. And just realised you said it looks like a jetfighter too, in your OP. lol

I always thought of the Asp as sounding like a bomber rather than a fighter, regardless it sounds cool as ♥♥♥♥.

My trader pilot friend says his Asp sounds like a monster pickup truck.

I don't know how to describe what the Fer-de-lance sounds like. It just sounds big, and heavy, yet smooth.

I like the Asp when your slowing down in Super-Cruise and it sounds like you dropped to a lower gear and the engine really starts to whine...

Drives the wife crazy when I've got the speakers cranked up, but I like the way it shakes the floor and I "feel" it.

The Clipper's boost is the best. And then there is that metal-knocking-sound...

Courier sounded like a race car.

The sound design is realy fantastic... haven't flown those ships yet... but the Viper has such a distinct sound

I've only flown the Sidewinder (obviously) the Cobra and the Viper.

The Viper sounds absolutely disgusting when throttling up or down, with the engines crackling and popping.

I have to admit, E:D has blown me away with just the sound alone in the game.

I'm sure they did sample alot of real life sounds to make them so I dare say youre right. To mea, alot have a hint of the 'Star Wars prequel' type sounds as well.
