No other ways yet.
Right now I either use pen/paper or occasionally do it by buying a Sidewinder and leaving it there. ;)
True but marking a systme still does not save me having to type the name in over and over agai or being forced to enter my galaxy map.
What I would really like is for a "bookmarked" system to appear at the bottom of the navigation list so you can select it like it was a nearby system and in the background the game calculates the fastest route to it without me having to enter the galaxy map. Like a favorite laocations no a satnav. Im not being greedy I dont want to be able to mark dozens of locations, 3 would be enough for me lol
I'm getting carpal tunnel from typing the same few keys what feel like hundred and hundreds of times (really bad if you have a multi jump trade route between systems X and Y)
Agreed. There is alot can be done to enhance this game. But we have that we have now. Dunno about devs plans for it.
For three sideys is enough. I have 18 of them even on all wide populated space. They just for navigation in node points. Its working well for me. But can be better, yes.
The second being that if you are already charged/mostly charged for a FSD jump and someone tries to interdict you that you should -if you can- cancel the jump. If you jump the game goes mental and you crash stop into the star you jumped to with the interdiciton still going on and the enemy opening up on you while you are still spinning and overheating from dropping too close to a star.
If you were, for example, in a type 7 with no guns it's a good way to nearly die and loose half your cargo lol
lol, the universe totally consist of imperfect things. Only the Emperor making them ideal! ,)
Every mature realized that.
Saying you more. I was flying Type 9 with 500t of pallafium and that? I was interdicted once while in th midde of jump sequence and intediction cotinued after jumped in another (completely empty) system. Is it needed here to say about millins of loss? Nah! Thats just a game :D
I think there is more volume to the meaning of your reply than the meagre amount that I gleaned from it. I feel like I'm doing you a disservice.
Do you mean the game universe or the real-world universe. Without waxing philosophical you can say in either case that the universe is perfect and that it is merely our understanding of it that is imperfect and flawed, of course that's a convo for another day ;)
But I mean both. In such order: real-world universe much far from perfect, and ingame is just a small part of it implemented in code executing on computers we made. And computers still far from perfect. All of this. We are too. But we can do things better. Literally, and we`re doing it, with our possibilities.
:)
Well without going too far off topic, you cannot say you are not perfect and then say the universe is not prefect. By absolute definition your logic is flawed, because you are imperfect and that means your assertion is incorrect. So whilst you can claim correctly that you are not perfect you cannot claim with any certanty that the universe is not, Logic will not bend to that degree, if that's the case you have to assume the universe is perfect but your understanding of it is not
I feel like the inclusion of some kind of system like this is such a basic game convenience that I am pretty amazed that it did not make it into the beta never mind the current releases
It just seems like a natural, pretty easy to implement function, although I'm not a coder so what do I know lol
Im lazy now to explain, but that not just right. I can. Everybody can who can offer somth better.
I appreciate that this is a way to log a point of interest, what I was after thought was something which resembles the favorites in a sat nav and lets you "quick-plot" a course to that location.
If I have a multi jump trade run it bets boring really quick to press the same few buttons and type the same system names ad-infinitum.
It would be much more of a sensible user interface to be able to store a couple of locations as "quick-nav" points which are permanently shown on your local systems list, without you having to enter the galaxy map whereby selecting one plats a course to it from wherever you are in the galaxy, be it 2 jumps or 60 jumps away
