Whats the most effective weapon against a large ship such as an anaconda, clipper, and others?

Cannons/Plasma accelerators

Frag canons can be good as well, but you have to stay right on their tail to get maximum effect.

And once shields are down, torpedoes are awesome... just they are mainly only useful for single assassinations or PvP as ammo is too limited to take for extended combat.

Still, it would help if you could say what you are flying, since its largely dependent on ship.

I'm flying a Imperial Courier.

You could also use multi-cannons for aiming at the power plant once their shields are down.

Generally vs. large ships you need large weapons to do full damage. Smaller weapons are less effective against the bigger ships.

So a Courier with medium weapons isn't ideal to fight big ships. A Vulture will do damage easyer because of it's 2 large hardpoints.

Best weapon is a wing of 4, silent scouts, equipped with 2xImperial hammers each OR 2xRail guns, along with 2xTorpedo Pylon per ship. Total firepower 8 Rails/Hammers and 8 Torps. This strictly PvP though, since youll need to re-arm after every engagement.

Yeah, which makes it more important to carry weapons with lots of ammo or just go with a laser build... which is less effective, but medium vs large... it takes 33% longer to take down.

Hmm, yeah. I think it was -20% damage per size class. So small weapons vs. large ship = -40% damage vs. hull. Or something like that.

Shields have no damage modifier. Weapons always do their full damage. (Lasers especially)

If you're in a Courier trying to take on Pythons and the like, its basically a battle of attrition.

I'm regularly taking on CZ Pythons in my own Courier right now cuz I'm trying to save up for a Fer-de-lance. Personally, I like to maximise my Hull damage as best I can, so I go two C2 Gimbled Bursts and one C2 Fixed Cannon.

A lot of people ♥♥♥♥ on Bursts, but they're slightly better at damaging Hull and components than Beams with slightly lower energy cost, which I find helps me ensure I'm dealing as much damage as I can to that Power Plant.

The Fixed Cannon is for whenever I can line up a shot. The undernose hardpoint doesn't have good vertical tracking so I find its not worth having it Gimbled.

Feel free to switch things around or maybe even try out the Plasma Acc. I didn't like the power drain, but if you manage to land a shot it does even more damage than the cannon.

Even more then. -66% is heavy. Don't try to take on a Conda in an Eagle then. ;)

Its possible, if you have the skill (i don't, but i've seen it done) and patience, but if that conda gets a lock on you, then you are toast.

A rail gun eagle might pull it off as well.
