Either way i would advise you to get an adder. It is a bettter miner and a nice stepping stone to the cobra
You are better off doing some trade or just bulletin board missions that do not involve too much killing.
If you have combat skills, go after some wanted ships, you can get quite a bit, and if you "Kill steal" from the NPCs you can get it easy, fast, and safely.
Or, if you think thats too easy (Like me) go fight in a war! (Really) Find a system with a war going on, go to one of the fighting zones, choose a faction, kill someone, go to a station, redeem your local combat bonds! You can get lots of money doing that, but its risky, as you are fighting ships with the best armor, the best everything, really!
