Modular terminals 2020?
So, the perenial question, how the fsck does one get modular terminals to unlock Qwent these days?

Google says "flip the boards". Well, can't do that any more.In fact, most of the Elite Dangerous information found using Google is out of date, obsolete, and, quite frankly, pretty useless to the new player.

I have an AspX, so not really suited to passenger missions. Which doesn't matter, since I've yet to see one. The last few stations I've visited don't give ANY modular terminals for missions. I've found exactly two missions in the last 5 hours that give modular terminals. One I completed. One I couldn't take.

So, what's the scoop? Is it another "endless grind" quest that drives people to leave E.D. again? Or is there some trick I haven't sussed out?

This is exactly the reason why I am not even looking at engineering. Reading a lot of posts about this type of road blocks. Some grind is OK but ED is the mother of all grinding so far... It is fun to certain extent only...

Aha! One piece of advice I've just found was to look for "Industrial" systems in "Boom" status to find missions with modular terminals. Which, of all the advice I've tried so far, still seems to work. I have my 25 terminals now.

From 2017 no less.

Whilst doing the rescue missions for the damaged stations I saw a ton of modular terminals as rewards, just fit one cheap economy passenger module and do a couple of runs and you will make some cash and get your modules. you need 25 so you will also need a cargo rack to hold them all.

I was also offered a TON of modular terminals - not only for the rescue missions, but plenty of other missions as well, at loads of different stations. Your inability to find them is exactly that - an **inability** (unwillingness?) to find them.

You can still flip boards on follow up missions. Not the regular missions only the follow ups.

lol @Bannor - yeah, that's right, the fact that there were none showing up on the boards, at all, in any station I was in, was totally my fault somehow. At least until I went to "Industrial/Boom" system and found what I needed there. Only thing you've shown to be easy is how to be a toxic @ss.

That said, thanks to those posting helpful info. Hopefully someone in the future will be able to use it.

google has a feature where you can choose from what dates your search results are. The more you know ...

The more you know: Google goes by "last updated" for the page. For dynamically generated content (ie: 95% of the web today it seems), that means that selecting "last month" actually selects anything ever posted on certain sites, because they auto-generate the "last updated" date to be whenever it was last *accessed* by the Google bot. Including reddit, for instance (got a hit from 2017 doing that).

PS: oh, and the most useful post I found was from 2017 (the industrial/boom suggestion). Despite most of the information that I found in addition to that being horribly out of date. So Just looking for 2020 wouldn't have helped anyway.

It's all about luck, but not unwillingness. Found 23 terminals in Avik and Luyten's Star during one hour for passenger and other missions. Then, suddenly, no more terminals. They are just gone from all the stations. Was visiting other systems with industrial economy and boom states. Spend more than two hours. Nothing. No luck. This is real stopper.
