No, I mean the hardpoints.

I don't get you o.O

Well, if you mean large hardpoint then the Diamondback Explorer is the first ship with a price tag of about 2 million. You also have the Vulture at around 5 million and Imperial Clipper with a price tag of about 22 million.

I'm assuming they're looking at a Python or Fer-de-Lance and are... a bit unhappy about the price.

Damn right I'm unhappy because the game is only profitable trading. I'm making an absurd amount with just an investment of 7mil... but still... 320k every 10 minutes is still a long time until anything of signifigance.

I thought the same thing when I was starting out, never imagined I'd be able to afford any of the ships worth dozens of milions... but it gets A LOT easier.

Went Sidewinder -> Adder -> Cobra -> Asp -> Clipper, always bounty hunting, never traded or explored and now I'm sitting at over 200M in assets.

I've also "boosted" friends and they all got to fly Vultures in like 2 weeks.

it sounds like you've slipped into the trap of grinding for bigger ships. Just enjoy what you're doing in the game and the upgrades will come. Switch things up and look into exploring (i saw you started a thread asking for help exploring) or bounty hunting. you find the right HIRES and you'll rake in the CR. Think about joining a power for some income bonuses and to open the game up a bit.

Gotta earn your way up. :-P Besides, trading isn't the only way to make money. It may be the best dependable way if you have a good route and lots of cargo space, but bounty hunting is good credits too. I made roughly 8 mil last night bounty hunting for 2-3 hours in my Vulture at a RES. Granted, I was getting some luck running into Pythons and whatever else on a fairly consistant basis.

I just find trading to be dull in comparison...

How is the vulture? I know it boasts 2 Large Hardpoints, but it still sounds kind of weak compared to say even an ASP which has smaller hardpoints, but more of them.

I've flown both, but stuck to de Asp because of the amazing jump range. In combat though, the Vulture took the cake. Asp has a lot of small hardpoints which are penalized versus big ships, it's also a considerably bigger ship ergo it's less maneuverable.

The only things I didn't like about the Vulture were the power plant (impossible to completely A rate a Vulture because of it) and the jump range. One of the best shields in the game though.

Also, cost... an A rated combat Asp is about 40milion.

oh 50mil is to get python/fdl as useless in your garage. python will cost u about 150mil A rated, fdl about 90mil. this excludes bulkheads.

If you look for combat ship without the grind you speaking about, vulture and viper are something you should be looking at

Pretty much what they said as far as the Vulture goes. I love the damn thing. The power is kinda lame, but... I make do. lol

I thought about getting an Asp, but... I do a lot of bounty hunting and also considering how I've been farming merits... the Vulture just ended up being a better fit for me.

Eventually I will get a Python or Fer-de-Lance, but am in no rush. Still debating on which one I want anyways. haha

An A rated Asp is okay in combat, the shields are nothing like Vulture's and it's still a bit of a space cow in handling though... but you can jump half way across the galaxy in one tank, it's insane. Very useful for cashing in those random bounties you get with your KWScanner.

Next one is definitely a Python for me!
