I've tried a few different things, including 3 builds last night in a Haz RES.

I like to put turreted multis on the smallest hardpoints with corrosive on one and thermal damage on the other. Sometimes 2 cytos instead.

The two largest hardpoints I have oversized multis with autoload. Sometimes I'll swap them for 2 x plasmas, or 2 x beams.

The two size 2 generally have beams to strip shields. If I use Cytos above, these two get the turreted multis.

The size 3 varies - right now I have another multi on it. Sometimes thermal vent beam.

(I have three corvettes and just swap the build on two of them to change things up.)

I settled on all medium and bigger hardpoints with efficient beam lasers and thermal dump. Smalls have a high cap turret MC with corrosive and an efficient pulse with scramble spectrum.

For my huge hardpoints I got a gimballed beam laser engineered to be efficient with thermal vent, and a gimballed multi-cannon engineered to be short range with corrosive for maximum dps, no reason to be wasting ammo shooting at something further than 2KM anyways.

For the large hardpoint I stick with a gimballed frag-cannon engineered with double-shot and drag munitions for high dps and to make it harder for enemies to get away if they try.

For the mediums I have two concord cannons engineered with short range for maximum dps, and dispersal field to mess with enemy gimbals.

For the smalls I have turreted pulse lasers engineered for long-range, one with scramble spectrum and the other with emissive munitions to help my gimbals stay on target and make it so I don't lose my target if they pop a heatsink or go silent running.
im old school. ive got two laser and lots of big MC's. it may not be the best DPS or whatever, but i enjoy it, and things go boom boom.

I was quite impressed when i got my corvette. i had been using a combat outfitted anaconda. the Corvette handles so much better despite being bigger.

Yep I haven't used the conda since I unlocked the corvette about 4-5 years ago. The only thing I've used the conda for (briefly) was the old passenger rescues from burning stations.

First, don't take any advice that doesn't match your controller setup.

Second, share your controller setup.

Third, express interest or disinterest in fixed weapon types.

I fly two joysticks and peddals.
I like to have the two huge's be gimballed multi-cannons.
Everything else was in flux on my corvette.
A pacifier on the size 3 can be nice.

Fill every hardpoint with explosives and detonate them as soon as you leave the mail slot.

Glory to Gutamaya. Glory to the Emperor!
