Gold mining

Is it possible? What equpment i need to have to mine gold as fast as possible and go direct to station to sell it from RES site?

Another question - do i need cargoo scoop for mining?
Is there any mining equipment locations closer to Sothis? :D

i just hate traveling 30 LY to sell the gold.

1) Yes its very possible to mine gold.

2) Necessary Equipment, must have refinery (more bins the better) Also must have Mining lazer, and plenty of cargo space to store your gold.
*If you can afford it get prospector limpets, and collector limpets. They save a lot of time and increase poductivity.

3) Yes, all ships have a cargo scoop it is activated on rightside of ship under functions.

4) Find a high tech system should have all the equipment you need.
*To find a high tech system under galaxy map, tab, map, view. Filter the search for economy and high tech it will display all high tech systems in blue.

5) in order to make money mining you need to find a system with pristine metalic rings, and not to far from your selling point. Ideally you weant it within 1 jump and the station should be within 500ls from the star.
*good mining is all about reading the galaxy map, if you are mining and find a better more productive ring and station do not hesitate to move.

Lol. Dont bother with conda about mining. Halfhour of trade in it equals of two hours of mining :D
I tried that on conda and on t9 too. Superbugged also. Drones dies with no reason, refinery like an month like child - needs attention for every move. Hah. No more, thanks ;)

By the way..
I got nearly as trade revenues on bounty hunting Arissa`s space and little less in cz`s. And it not so boring to get sleepy with that as with trading and mining ;)

But couple of time for fun - why not?

an anaconda would be great for mining, especially since fighting off any pirates would be a breeze lol lots of internals and cargo space. exactly what you need :)

personally i think more important to know how to discover proper asteroid to mine, which isn't obvious(for newbies) thats no equipment allowing you to discover that Without doing actually mining, which is boring and redundant even in XX century and not time/money efficient approach to extraction. and refining is had lot of micro-management too, which is redundant too(player should just set desired mining policy/priorities and micro-manage only in really neceasry conditions).

basically yes, because all those bogus/redundant ordeals and over-complications of mining "from nothing" and moderate/small profit mining isn't really interesting/profitable, but some consider it more interesting(probably because lack of various/rich missions, yet), aside trading, hunting, powerplaying, etc.

gold mining and painite mining sometimes demand flying in places where even experienced pilots may had troubles in. and even in well-habited and patrolled systems - miners was easy prey for pirates and bandits(both NPC and players). unless they had a-rated conda or type-9 or something like.

Yeah. I think i understood everything for now. :D
Got best equpiment. Got to metallic rings.. But... It is time consuming as hell. You are right... Not so good as basic trading.

yeah, read FD forum about.
they not seems to respond/promised much, yet.
but most players anyway consider mining both over-complicated(in many respects. and usually without sane reason) and Especially not so profitable.

Therefore they need to improve the base game, Horizons wont be the holy grail.

* weapon balance ( talk about rockets)
everyone is using similar laodouts and certain weapons are almost not used at all

* "profession" balance
smuggling is too easy and profitable, trading in general better than other activities.
