Friend and I can't play privately?

Hello, before anythign said, we already know about leaving group invites idle/looking at friends list breaks the private group server button and changes it to Cancel.

We're past that, but once we join the actual server, it keeps sending us to completely different servers, it keeps saying the other is in Solo, but when we look at our own name sit says we're in the private group. And if one of us quits out to the main menu, it says the other is in the private group again, but once you join the server yet again, it says they're Solo again.

We have tried 8 times trying to play together, is there a possible work around?

have you both jumpped out of the starting star system? you have to make your 1st jump before you can play in open or group :)

We've jumped quite a bit, both have a million cr, we're pretty far.

Do we have to be in the same star system you mean?

Go in a wing together, go inside the chat panel, go to the 2nd screen where your friends are and click on your friend, then click on Invite to wing and your friend will get a notification. Let him accept the invite and go to a station. Hope this helps :)

to wing with a friend in open, you only need to be in open, then perss "2" by default for the comms panel and move to the 2nd tab "e" button by default. then find your friends name in the list and request wing. your friend then has to accept the request.
note: you do have to add your friend to your list before they can be seen outside your current system.
in private, you have to invite your friend to join your group., then you must both start the game in the same group and you will be able to see your friend in the comms panel once you are both logged in.
if the group selection after the start button is clicked is missing, close the launcher and game then reopen. the private group sometimes dissappears after accessing the friends/group section, its a minor bug which should be fixed with the next update in acouple weeks :)

What we're trying to do is play the Private Group match, not online because this game's horribly optimized and the Newb planets completely destroy any performance.

We join the Private Server, but it keeps saying the other is in Solo when we clearly never clicked Solo.

go when ingame ot the friends and groups channel, it refreshes the friend list in the comms menu

Make sure that any group invites or requests have been accepted.

Have i5 - 255k 8 gb ddr3 and a GTX 560. Auto put it in high. very rarely drops below 55fps mos tlag i get is down to conenctions in open. zilth performance problems in solo.

FYI E:D seems to behave wierd from time to time if both the steam overlay and overwolf are on at teh same time.
