Leave the starting area and check the system maps of places before you accept missions, that way you'll know exactly how far you have to travel once you arrive at the target system.
Fuel scoops only work on star types O, B, A, F, G, K and M.
You can use the galaxy map to check the star types of the systems you're going to jump into if you need to find a place to refuel without docking, using the filter[i.imgur.com] and also checking the info tab[i.imgur.com] when a system is selected.
Alternatively remember KGB FOAM
I'm still playing in solo, btw, so until I find other captains to travel with, I'm not worried about grieffers
No. The starting system is just a well known binary system with long distances to stations from the primary star.
What you really need to do is check the system maps of places before you accept missions, that way you'll know exactly how far you have to travel once you arrive at the target system.
understood. I was already checking that but the time/money ratio was always favoring that particualr system for some reason
Anyway, moved to another place entirely. I'll see if it keeps happening (the mission favored system at least)
another question I have is:
I was told by a player that the starting point was random for each player but what you guys said hints at the opposite. so, which one is it?
There are other stars out there that have no space stations that are close to the jump-in point; LHS 3447 is merely a rather extreme example, and one that newbies are forced to deal with because that's the system they all start in.
(Note, you'll probably be starting over from scratch in the stress test, but that's only in the stress test (it's seperate), the main save on the full game remains the same, don't worry)
