Stuck with a hold full of Tobacco

Bought a load of tobacco and now i'm stuck with it...it doesnt show up on any of the commodities lists at the stations I dock at and it shows on my console as illicit cargo...this is the first time I have used the commodities market so i'm a little confused as to how I sell my tobacco...any help please guys?...thanks

Look for the option to talk to the naughty people on the station (not all stations have this option, but the stations in anarchic systems/etc, will have it).

Smuggled/illicit/illegal cargo is usually sold like this (you get a premium price too).

Or go to a system where Tobacco is legal (like the place you bought it from :))

Find a black market in contacts or just jettison it cause every time you get scanned you will get a fine, could be more trouble then it is worth to try and off load it.

Just to expand a bit on the above, some stations have a black market which u can access by selecting station services, then contacts (usually the 3rd option in contacts).

If no black market is listed then go to system map, then go to last tab (forget what its called) where u will find a filter system to select Tobacco, the sytems that trade in Tobacco (Buy more so than sell) will be shown. Select the nearest system and jump there.

If u do not want to go to the hassle of finding where to sell it then hit button 4 on keyboard, scroll to CARGO, select tobacco and then DISCARD. That way ur no longer shown as carrying ILLICT cargo and u will be fine to carry on as normal.

You can avoid getting scanned by running in silent mode and totally downgrading your power use. Coupling this with a high speed ship [CM3], I have made a hell of a lot of cash by smuggling stuff all over federation and imperial space! The trick to learning how to smuggle is to know when and where you will get scanned, and how to avoid/deal with it. Have fun :)

if you not want smuggling tobacco - just sell it where is legal, ie Empire systems. non-agricultural one(to avoid money lose).

Thanks guys...I managed to sell and make 2 grand profit...not the profit I was hoping for but at least I didnt lose money which is a result as there were no jobs on the bulletin board that didnt involve combat...my biggest money maker to date was smuggling slaves...I made over a hundred grand on 1 run (but I have no idea what the punishment would be if scanned)

Same issue here, anything I try to sell ain't being bought. Just checked and it's a connectivity issue...silly me.

Get back in your time machine. Also: all stations, only buy a selection of goods. What you're trying to sell is probably either produced where you're trying to sell it, or illegal.
