and even now after 1200 plus hours i still have not set up voice attack
"maybe one day i will take the time"
i know there are sum threds on this forum already about voice attack set up ,
i would start there ,
there are sum youtube vids as well they kinda help. sorry i dont have links as it was a while back
dont get put off by the complex setup too much and as once you are set up it is amazing.
even elite is a complex game if you use all 90 something keybinds lol
but too know you way around what dose what will help you map out voice attack alot easier.
sorry i can not be any more help, best of luck
I created a profile just for Elite and added many voice commands for numerous bindings, i.e, FSD bind is J, and I have that set to 'Engage Frame shift Drive;Engage F S D;Charge Drives;Jump;Drives Engage. This is how it actually looks in the 'When I say' box. To add, I noticed Frameshift didn't work so well. Adding a space seemed to sort it out.
Also, when you have finished editing your profile, even if all you've done is one command change, make sure to apply and click done in the bottom right corner, which will take you back to the main screen. From here, make sure Listening is set to on (the second icon down on the right that looks like a headset).
The big issue for me was whatever I said, only occasionally was anything happening. I found out that my standard headset that hangs on the side of my monitor when not in use, was still the primary input/output device. If you go into settings (the lower most icon on the right that looks like a spanner), click audio and change whatever is currently set to your VR device (for me, it is Headphones (2- Rift S), from there everything worked perfectly. Just remember to change these back if you decide to play without VR using VoiceAttack, or if the boxes are checked, in Windows Settings.
I may not be helping here, just listing the two major issues I had. Not applying and returning to the main screen and profile, and the correct audio channels.
Don't use Target. Just set the controls in game.
Don't give up, ED with multiple controls can be daunting whilst setting up, I have a similar setup and it took a bit to get everything working smoothly. When I set up I had to do a lot of google searching and tweaking. I cant give you a cure all fix as all my settings were done ages ago and your devices are different to mine. All I can say is that is does pay off when its all working - you will have to research your specific hardware and problems with trial and error.
A lot of reddit, youtube and steam forums helped me along the way. Focus on one problem at a time.
With your VA problem, do you have joysticks off?
In VA - right hand side bottom - above voice attack settings (the spanner icon) there is an xbox controller like icon - make sure it is on. If it is on, t.a.r.g.e.t software may be your problem and may be worth uninstalling. Heaps of players have issues with target and claim it is the source of their problems.
I'm not really helping that much, but may steer you in the right direction - Good luck!
