Yup, as Jimmy has said directly and based off of Kira's point, I always go to Mr Money from Sirius' home turf when I am looking to get a new ship or to at least get a new module that is expensive. Although 15% may not sound all that much in the grand scheme of things, if I wanted to run a 200 million A-rated Python for BH and other multi-purpose activities, then going to Mr Money's space will save an overall 30 million credits on the whole build of the ship. Of course as you progress in the game, money becomes even easier to accrue, but I guess that mechanic is tru for oh so many games, if not just for real life to be honest!!

So, plot a course for the Diaguandri system, I believe it is Ray Gateway [without checking the map myself], and you will find a massive selection of ships that all have 15% discounts on them. You will also find pretty much every module/unit/weapon for any of these ships at the same star-port, also with the lovely 15% off. I don't know why Mr Money does this [Li Yong Rui], but I imagine it was something to do with the background story happening before I bought into this incarnation of Elite.

I would recommend though that if you are going to come out of Diaguandri in a new ship or one that you have made major changes to, be careful if you are playing in open mode. I imagine, much like the griefers who take pleasure in ruining the game for new players in and around Eravate, that there are also griefers knocking around this system and its neighbours, probably waiting at Nav beacons for you to jump in so they can interdict you, catch you off guard in your new ship, and hand your backside to you on a platter before you have figured out even how to deploy the hard-points in your new beautiful ship. I would hate to see this as a whole new level of griefer activity, but their whole raison d'etre is to be tossers, so who knows really what goes through their small brains!!

Enjoy your new ship and kit buddy, and fly safe as always :)

There are groups of griefers everywhere in the game andrtan, and they like to congregate where they are most likely to get fresh human ships to destroy for their weird personal kicks. For example, as I am sure you are well aware, they hang around Eravate / LHS 3447 waiting for new players to make their maiden voyage to a nearby system, only so they can blow them out of the sky. It's even more tragic that they do it in immensely powerful and huge ships that normally take a fraction of time to kill a new sidewinder than it would to kill a player who had been playing for a week and upgraded per se - but when I say tragic, I am referring to the lives of the griefers being tragic, as they must have serious emotional and interpersonal damage to warrant the need to behave like this in a game!

But yeah, there is every reason to expect to see them in systems neighbouring those that are high tech and have a good supply of ships and modules. Many players will have just made their first jump in the brand new ship from outside the masslock range of the star-port, and in reaching the nav beacon for the new system, they will get pulled by said griefers; but because they have had such little time to practice with their new ships, they essentially are outmatched right off the bat, and once again the sad griefers get another unwarranted kill ....!!

Anyway, personally I have had no problem with them whatsoever, as I play all my time in the Mobius group. Before this I played all solo in the knowledge that I would be missing the human contact, but safe from having my early game practice ruined by said weiners. I came into open once between the two and for about 1 hour, when I was doing the Hutton Run and being shadowed by a pair of Fuel Rats in Anacondas, so I felt a shade more protected then lol !!

When you say that you play in a private group, do you mean the Mobius group? If not, it is a group of almost 14,000 players worldwide now that all want to just play / fight the environment in the game, so only want to combat the NPCs and not any other human players. It is a great group as it allows you to utilise the full benefits of the MMO universe in the game, and all that it brings in terms of forming wings, helping out other players, and even so far as organising traffic flow at the star-port in the current CG, which frankly is an awesome job and hilarious at the same time trying to get people in and out without hitting each other and so on!! Send me a PM if you are interested in the Mobius group and I can always give you more information on my own experiences and what I enjoy about it, which may or may not be of benefit to you, but it is of course all up to you mate!!

On getting back to the original point though, I forgot to mention that Diaguandri is in Federation or Alliance space although I can't recall which exactly. I am just pretty sure that Li Yong Rui is the dude who owns the Sirius corporation, and thus he is able to offer the 15% discounts on ships and modules at any systems that are controlled or exploited by him AFAIK. But within Empire territory, I had forgotten about the answer above that JGX03 gave - in the recent CG to clear Cayutorme of a rebel fleet fighting the Empire, they 'towed back and recovered' loads and loads of ships from the rebel fleet, that they are now selling off at a discount in Cayutorme. So, technically you can go there and buy a second hand ship, but they are identical to new ones in every respect; it is more for the story line in the background. But as JGX03 mentioned, they all work out at around 15% discounts as well which matches Mr Money's deals. And as you know 15% on an Anaconda is going to be somewhere between say 20 and 25 million credits, so well worth it! The only thing I would want to mention to you though is that of course the outfitting at Cayutorme may be a bit limited, so you may end up whizzing off all over the place to find the parts you need; and I am pretty sure as well that the discounts in Cayutorme apply to ships only, and not any of the modules. That is where Diaguandri really comes into its own IMHO - I plugged a fully A-rated Python there using all the discounts, and the only item I couldn't actually source there was the 7A power plant - I had to make do with plugging in a 7B unit until I could fins a station on the way back to Kaushpoos that had a 7A in stock. I still made sure to buy it in a Li Yong Rui system though, as I think the discount on the 7A power plant is again about 7 to 8 million, so worth making the effort to hunt one down!

Good luck, fly safe, and enjoy your new Anaconda mate - I am not that far up in terms of cash flow yet, but I am sure I will get the chance to plant my butt in the pilot's seat of one soon enough!!

I've been at this game for months and never knew about the 15% discount station! I've already got an Anaconda but 162 million for that A8 power plant.... Way too much of a grind. If I'd sell all my other ships I'd have 78 million, still roughly 90 million short. Keep in mind the re-buy for that Anaconda is already 12.3 million. I hate the grind...
