Hi thought I would let you know an error I had and how I fixed it via some help from the Frontier Forum:

Error Message 1: via steam error Application Startup Exception: The type initializer for 'CBviewModel.Properties.setting ' threw an exception.

Error message 2 on closing first: Unhandled Exception cannot create instance of cobrabaywindow defined in assembly EDlaunch version=0.4.3670.0 culture=neutral publickeyToken=Null. Exception has been thrown by target of an invocation. Error in markup file 'EDlaunch;component/cobraBaywindow.xaml.


Delete game from all locations
C:/Users/Your_User_Name/AppData/Local/Frontier Developments
C:/Users/Your_User_Name/AppData/Local/Frontier_Developments
C:/Users/Your_User_Name/AppData/Roaming/Frontier Developments


Solution: Change EDLaunch.exe.config - On C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch ( or in my case F:\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous) you will find a file named EDLaunch.exe.config. Firstly, make a backup this file by copying it to another location such as your desktop. After that open the EDLaunch.exe.config file with a text editor such as Notepad. You'll see a line with something similar to: < supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727" /> Simply delete this line and leave the line underneath that states "v4.0" instead, save the file and run the launcher again. (sic)
