"Jump exceeds drive fuel use limit of 0.60 tons......."
I just got elite and i been playing for few days.

It is sometimes so annoying and complicated but extreamly interesting.

In 3 days i havent completed a single quest / mission... but im close..

For now can someone tell me just wtf "Jump exceeds drive fuel use limit of 0.60 tons......." means when i try to jump into hyperspace??

So annoying. ALso when u plan journey to another place do u use "Select mark" or "plot course"??

I found that pressing plot course takes you all around galaxy with dozens of bends and stops ... hmmmmm

Look to your left
Open galaxy map
Search system you want to reach
Make sure "fastest routes" is selected
Plot course

Ta-da.

(make sure to plot after you're loaded up with cargo and fuel. Solid line: you have enough fuel to reach it. Dotted line: you'll have ran out of fuel by that point.)

You have too much cargo in your Hold. Sell some Containers until you reached you weight. Alternatively you could set another Route. another thing is to build in a smaller fuektank. Less jumps but a bit farther,
Fly by the seat of your pants, yes, play with just pants.

it means your destination is too far away and you can't jump directly to your destination. you can solve this by installing drive upgrades as the quickest and easiest way to improve your range.

plotting a course will take you through a series of smaller jumps to reach your final destination, if you have the range to make it in one go you can have the computer set to plot a direct course. but if you have a stock ship that you start with your range is severely limited so you can't go very far in single jumps and need to refuel along the way.

You've got a ♥♥♥♥ FSD and have too much cargo on your ship which is causing the amount of fuel it takes to make a hyperspace jump to exceed what your drive is capable of handling.

How do i do that and do i have enough credit when i start to do this??

Sometimes (not sure if this is your issue) the route planning gets buggy and just targets the last planet in the route. De-select the route and choose it again, and it should point to the next planet on your route, as it should.

Hope that helps a little.

Also, in outfitting, you can see your max jump range. Then if you hover over a planet in galaxy map, it will tell you distance. That way you'll know if you're trying to jump further than your FSD can handle, and it's time for an upgrade, or to lose some weight.

I play in just a shirt. Porky pig style :)

I just started playing i dont have any weight.
Also HOW the hell do u get money to upgrade FSD if i cant even complete the most basic missions?

Did you read the first part of my post? When you plot a course, it takes you "all around the galaxy" (not even close, did you zoom out??) because that's the only way to get to your destination without a bigger FSD, you have to do a bunch of smaller jumps.

Theres like 20 points i have to reach.. what do i refuel at them?

Select your destination => Plot course (don't forget to set the plotting on economical since you just started the game. You will do more jumps, but use less fuel, so you can jump further, total distance wise) => enjoy the trip :)

And as others told you, ONCE you can afford it, buy better FSD to avoid further issues about jump range :)

You cna refuel with a fuel scoop to refuel on star, but if you just started the game, that would be a waste of CR because of the extreme overheating you'll suffer to approach the star

Sounds like you may have accepted a mission you aren't prepared to complete.

ED doesn't give you missions it knows you can complete - it's up to you decide whether you think you can or not. I would recommend dropping that mission and starting to either trade or bounty hunt. Much more lucrative in the beginning, and you can start to take missions once you're better prepared.

I'd stay in the system for now and do some local moneymaking. The short range of your jump drive makes you jump lots of systems to reach your destination.
Like bounty hunting a bit, doing courier and transport missions to very close systems you are able to jump to (check before accepting the mission).
Also scanning celestial bodies with the basic discovery scanner brings some money from the start.

With only 30kCr or even less you can upgrade your sidewinder to a decent jump range and then jump where you want to go.

you do that by outfitting your ship at stations.

get money by destroying [wanted] ships you can turn in the bounty at any station in the sector yo're in. if its a faction bounty you can turn it in to any station in that factions space.
