UI Focus-what's the point?
You can call up the UI panels by hitting 1, 2, 3, or 4. So what is the utility of using UI focus and then selecting the panels with the mouse cursor? Thanks.

Its so when you get your VR you can just look in that direction and the panel will pull up automatically.

He's not talking about looking at the panel, he's talking about hitting the Shift key and then WASD to pan over to panels when 1234 do the same thing

My guess is it's if people want to bind 1234 to other actions, they can then use the Shift key.

Personally though I use the middle mouse button and look over, I just like it more.

Oh sry, I use a joystick and just flip my thumb in the direction I want to look. Never actually used the keyboard in this game.

It so you can easily bind the selection to a HOTAS controller without the need to reach for the keyboard...

Thanks.

Its intended for TrackIR and VR users so they can lock the view to a panel that is currently active so the view doesn't move about while they are trying to read/interact with it. With TrackIR or VR you don't use the keys 1 through 4 for changing views (although you can if you turn off head tracking). You simply turn your head towards the panel; depending on the sensitivity of the device it can be hard to keep the view perfectly still without ui focus.

Actually it's so that it DOESN'T pull up automatically. It pulls up automatically by default. When I hold the key the screens go down and I can look beyond them without it showing up.
