as for safer margin - i think 12-17 seconds is safer range ~ ;)
Trick #2: Planets are a huge brake. Fly close (but not too close) to the planet and you'll lose speed fast. You can "hook around" and you can kill enough speed to rescue the approach.
Trick #3: Offset to one side and do a J turn into the target. If you're not too fast that may just do the trick.
The more inputs (axis) you put into the turn the faster you lose speed. Pitch, yaw, and turn and use your radar (and the force!) to guide you.
i mean, if you get too close to them going to your destinations.
I think I understand what you mean by the planets.
But, I always keep it in the blue, but it just takes offf and acccelerates.
It is actually telling you to slow down. The reason the message flashes up when you go near another body if you pass too close to it is because the game behaves as though whatever you are ripping past is what you are trying to get to rather than something you are passing by and is saying "you are going too fast" to stop in time for me, even though you don't want to stop there at all.
If it was the case it was just a gravity warning you would get the message all the time you near a planet or star untill you left its gravity well and no matter what speed you were doing, but you don't.
No, decelerate from 100% to 75%. Other than that, bingo.
I keep it in the blue, and then it goes.. you are going too fast. and takes off on its own
i try to decelerate when it says slow down, but it accelerates

What this guy says is corrent. But, I over shoot the destination because it automatically acelerates regardless if i set it to the blue area. Then have drop out and have to jump to it again
if the timer goes above or below 0:07 then adjust your speed in very slight increments (again dont adjust if its a stellar body in your fligt path, go around it without adjusting and youll speed up once gravity stops pulling you) till it hits 0:07 again (once you get the hang of the sweer spot youll never really toggle throttle again).
