"Collector Limpet Expired"

So... Found me some pristine metallic rings on a gas giant. Got me lots of cargo bays. Got me a 4 slot refinery. Decided to get Collector Limpets, because who the hells wants to screw around with trying to collect things with a cargo bay?

Well, the problem is, my little collectors will grab 1 piece of ore, bring it back, then "expire". Not sure whats going on but the module I got says they last like 720 seconds or so theyre supposed to.

If you have a specific piece using the limpeting targeter it will only bring back that piece then expire, dont target anything and it will work in a general area around you till its time runs up.

Collector limpets have two 'modes' if you target a piece of ore/canister and then send out the limpet it will collect just that piece, return and then expire (pretty useless imo). The second mode is if you activate the limpet controller without targeting any ore or canister where it will then collect any items in its radius for the specified time before expiring.

Thats really really dumb. But if thats the way it works... then ok. Thanks for the info! :)

Do not target one specific piece of ore, otherwise you give it a command to pick it up. And they expire. On the other hand deselect all objects, then deploy limpets. In this mode the will be 'on patrol' picking up and bringing every piece of ore in their range. I guess answer was given in previous posts)

Glad that I found this, only wish I would have found it, or realized this sooner. So many limpets wasted.
