Shield Generators A rating or B rating?
I know E is the worst, D is the lightest, C is just middle, B and A though IDK...

when I use an A rated shield I feel like im in an anaconda but is it better to be in a B rated shield for the charge?

B is "military grade". B-rated modules are heavy but can take a lot of damage (if modules are attacked).

If you are looking for decent jump range on your ship, skip B.

I thought all shield generators reg with 1MJ/s?
Or are you talking about SCBs (B grade got a lower charge per use but 1 cell more).

Recharge? It depends on your power distributor according to ED Shipyard. http://www.edshipyard.com

Still what he means is that better shields also require a longer recharge time / time until they're up again (when they fell down). (since they have more MJ shields strength and recharge stays the same)

That just shows how much it can counter the power drain, that doesn't mean the shield is going to recharge at that rate though. Otherwise they simply would show the recharge rate on the shield module - which they don't do.

Maybe you're right there. I haven't followed that really much.

For strong shields it requires an awful long time to come up again so for bigger ships it's often better to run when shields come down, because otherwise it can become quite expensive.

Im after the Highest Sheild Capacity or strongest shields Im already using 3A Distributors for my ship

Correction im after the fastest Rebuild (Recharges sheilds after being broken) Time. If A is the strongest but the slowest then its not worth it for me. But if B is slightly weaker than A but its recharges faster then Im also taking that

Again, from what I know and read from people testing this the recharge time on all shields is the same.

The only thing I found out is that you sometimes get more MJ shields by going lower grade shield + higher shield boosters (if you can't run A shield + A shield boosters).

You can calculate that on coriolis.io

I checked again in the Shipyard tool... It turns out that The Imperial courier has 500 something MJ. Is this real? Im the tank of fighters?

Fastest rebuild is weakest shield (E-grade or smaller shields), because recharge (1MJ/s) is always the same. And you need half (?) the shield to recharge before they come up again.

Personally I find that a bad solution. Shield recharge should depend on your distributor and how many pips you put in SYS. Of course bigger ships would have an advantage here and it would need to be rebalanced if that would happen... but meh this is OT.

Yeah, shields of the Courier are quite strong. But "the tank of fighters" is more the Vulture.

Edit:
With 3A shields the courier has 335 MJ, the Vulture with 5A has 387 MJ ... (Coriolis)

Add 2 0A shield boasters and 2 2B shield cells

Yeah, shield cells don't make a difference.
0A Shield boosters add +20% strength.
It was just a comparison. Vulture has +15% better shields.

Courier got better shields with boosters as the Vulture because the Vulture can't handle shield boosters + high grade shields at all. It has simply too many power issues for that.

Yeah, that besides.
In total if you take Vulture vs. Courier:
Vulture = more DPS, better maneuverability
Courier = no power issues--> stronger shields, much faster.
