A short guide to Compromised Nav Beacons.
I am no longer updating this as a list due to lack of time, intrest, and practicality. Instead I have stripped it down to a blurb about Compromised Nav Beacons. Please pardon the lack of professionality.

EDIT: Community CNAV list:

Why Compromised Navigation Beacons?
While offering a similar bounty hunting enviroment as Hazardous RES zones, CNAVs spawn many small attack craft with a much higher probability of being in a wing, as opposed to HRES spawns of single large targets. The spawn rate of ships in a CNAV is naturally far greater than that of a HRES, and includes a larger variety of ships. You will encounter pirates, smugglers (Attempts to flee from combat, does not stick around for long), outcasts (Will not attack unless provoked), traders (Popular targets for the pirates, also has a high turnover rate, so more bad guys. No more getting bogged down by miners!), and even fellow bounty hunters (Who will scan ships for bounties, and attack any with one. Your local system security if clean everywhere in the universe, and a terrible enemy if not so) while patrolling. For those who enjoy the action of a combat zone, pilot larger ships and enjoy turret combat, or prefer fighting many syncronised small attack craft to a single, powerful ship. There is also no mass lock, allowing you a quick escape in the event that things turn sour.

CNAVs are MUCH BETTER FOR ADVANCING COMBAT RANK THAN HRES SITES. As combat rank is determined by how many hostile ships of certain ranks you destroy (The higher the rank, the more advancement per kill. After certain ranks you will stop gaining rank progress from lower ranked ship kills), and does NOT take into account the ship itself, you will advance much faster in combat ranks at a CNAV than an HRES. The amount of credits you make remains about the same, but CNAVs will keep you on your toes working for it a lot more than a HRES does.

Independent/Anarchy systems may not show a ship as WANTED or CLEAN upon a regular scan, instead returning LAWLESS. You must scan these ships with a Kill Warrant Scanner. I recomend staying away from these CNAVs, and instead finding one in federation or empire controlled space.

Wiknani is a fairly empty area with outpost 1200ls from the main star but makes up for it due to the cash potential it carries with it's neighboring system. Mankul often provides pirate extermination missions and the cnb also spawns high bounty ships regularly. I was able to earn several million in a hour. Great system. Located in empire space.

From my experience, I've found out that compromised nav beacons tend to be in places where stations are at a "Civil War" state. Doesn't have to be all of them in the system, at least one.

I just found one @ 110 Herculis. At the time, I wasn't sure what "compromised beacon" meant but I found out quickly that they are very toughl. I made 100+k credits taking only 2 ships down with greater difficulty, then ran into an Eilite Asp. Almost had him but got shot up pretty bad and at 37% hull capacity, turned tail & escaped. Limped in to Jahn Hangar (after being interdicted twice! Escaped both.) & licked my wounds.

Then I looked for the definition but ouldn't find "compromised beacon" on Wiki. Later, I found a thread on the steam forum. Now I know why it was so much more difficult.

The one in Kini just turned into a lawless Nav Beacon...
OneMug Oct 25, 2015 @ 11:55am
Is "lawless" the same as "compromised" beacon or are there differences?

Searched on line and on this forum and could not get a definite answer. Lot's of lawless hits & beacon hits separately but nothing on "lawless beacon". Just curious...

It sounds like it just makes all ships around the nav beacon "lawless," similar to Anarchy systems. (What that means, since I still tend to find wanted ships in Anarchy systems.)

Not all compromised nav beacons have lawless frequenters. The CNAV I listed (CX COM) is one example.

Lawless ships do not incurr or award a bounty when destroyed, yet do not show as wanted or clean (appearing as "Lawless") unless scanned with a kill warrant scanner. This can make bounty hunting a lot more tedious.

So what I expereinced was a bug then? I know the whole concept of the Anarchy systems (or do I?) but I swear to god when the game was still 1.3 I was clearly seeing WANTED on Anarchy systems before even scanning them any further with a kill warrant scanner. It confused the hell out of me.

1.4...don't think I've seen any since.

I mentioned 110 Herculis above. Doesn't count for some reason?
still__alive Oct 26, 2015 @ 10:10pm
I was bounty hunting at one that was 1 jump from the Chona system. I don't remember the name of the system atm. It had 3 stars and 1 outpost. The outpost was 70,000 ls away from the main star.

It's HIP 4291. The one outpost in the system is 74,000 ls away from the main star.

All right thanks everyone for continuing to submit new locations. I'm sure this collaboration will help make us all rich. XD
So far total compilation of CNAVs:
CX COM
WIKNANI
HIP 4291
110 HERCULIS

If any more are found please post it. Also, if any updates happen on the current list post it so we can keep an (mostly) accurate list of CNAV location. Thank you.
Murungh is the best place, It also has a conflict zone if you get tired bounty hunting

Hey @Paragon, I found one yesterday on my way out to Robigo, but I don't know if it is already in your list so to speak.

It was at the HIP 36129 system.

Good luck mate :)
