Power plant is best, but I have targetted Life support too, although recently that seems to have less of an effect than before, maybe they updated it to balance?
If you want them to stop moving, target drives, but like I say, on smaller ships, you destroy them completely before you get a chance to take the component damage down to 0%.
Yes, they indeed don't jump away anymore. Try to target the power planet on a anaconda, you will be surprised how fast that works. :)
You can just use "Y" to iterate through the subsystem.
I suppose that depends what your plan is.. If you are just in for the kill, (Bounty) then go for the power supply, if you want to toy a little with your food first take out the drives. You can also shoot the cargohatch, making them drop whatever they carry... thats as far as ive come, but please, do tell if you guys do it differently...
Thanks for the necroing, I reliably get the power plant down on any conda / python that comes across my vulture, usually with 30% hull still to be blown...
So yeah, know your weapons and ships.
1. You are attacking a specific system, usually PowerPlant and depending on your skills...you can disable a ship well before it would normall be destroyed by 0% hull.
2. It gives you a red target box to aim for. This helps with smaller ships and ships that are close to 3km out from you.
3. With that red box, you'll notice that fixed weapons have have a slight autoaim when you aim close to it.
