how to get the product code for elite dangerous

i may be dumb but dumb or not i have no idea how to get into the game after buying and downloading it i only just now see that the key doesnt come with it whatever that means im not some IT guru iv searched it up i went to the ed store did what was said but couldent find anything it might just be right under my nose but i have no idea any answers would be greatly appreciated

Right click the game in your steam library.
Go to 'Manage'.
The option for 'CD Keys' should be there.

Right click Elite Dangerous head to manage and the Cd Keys option will be located there with your keys you need to activate the game.

i managed to do it but not with any of that after the third time trying to see if i missed anything i opened the game and it said link accounts idk if i did something or if it was always there but it worked sorry if i sounded rude lol i just used up all my data to play this so i was a bit tilted

I just created a new commander 3-4 days ago. You can do everything through steam and the game launcher these days, including setting up your Frontier account and linking it to Steam.

After 2019 the game on Steam comes without CD Keys, so you wouldn't find it. Instead of it you link your Steam account to your Frontier account (if you don't have a Frontier account - you will have to create one), and then you will be able to use the game launcher with the Steam login option.
