ARX through Steam

Trying to buy ARX through Steam as usual and it's not letting me, sending me to credit card # and all that instead of charging my Steam account
Anything changed payment wise with Frontier?

Frontiers side hasn't changed as far as I can tell... I think it's Steam.

I used this a couple of days ago to add the 25500 pack to my main account:

I did have to use my card as well, but that's because I didn't have enough in my Steam my wallet at the time.

The card transaction just added the necessary funds to my Steam wallet then continued with the ARX purchase as normal.

I bought the same pack on my Epic account through the in game option, and that worked like it always has.

But it's not the first time that I buy ARX and I never had a penny in my steam wallet and it always ended up as a steam payment. Not very fond of putting my card # too many places that's why I liked how it worked, it took money from my card but through my steam account so I didn't have to give Frontier my card #

Edit: That link worked as usual I can buy from there but it didn't when I logged to Frontier... Anyways thanks for the link you helped me once more funky ; )

Re Edit: well it didn't work as usual but it did work. It was like you said I had to add $ to the wallet but what ever I have my ARX for the new ship in a week ; )

You have to add funds to your Steam wallet then buy Arx with those funds. Always works that way with in-game currencies, not just Arx.

I kind of remembered buying ARX from the Frontier site, all I had to do is pick the right currency and it was added almost instantly to my amount that I already had. What I did before that was log in frontier with steam (with the icons on top)
Now I have to add money to a wallet that I NEVER used before I get like 4 e-mails from Steam support... I think I'd remember that if it was that way before

Anyways.... they always find a way to screw up stuff that worked great so i'm not surprised, it still works so all is good ; )

Btw, my arx are still not added to my frontier account... is there a delay usually?
Nm, it's in the game so all good, I had to log into the game for it to work ; )

I normally sign into arx.elitedangerous.com using the steam option after buying Arx on steam. That seems to refresh everything promptly.

When I bought some recently, I first had to add funds to my account, then buy them with those funds. Said funds could be bought using my preferred payment method, wasnt limited to credit card for me.

As far as Arx not showing up, I had that too. Usually what I do is open the launcher, login, then logout and login again without closing the launcher and that usually does the trick for me. I've had it massively delay before but they should eventually show up.

I have never had a delay, but I do know that now there is no PayPal option at the Frontier store...There used to be...Maybe too many people were getting refunded over delays or bogus non-delivery claims...I know PayPal opts to the buyer anymore...So there is that...I don't normally carry a balance in my Steam Wallet, but I suppose that is a safer route than typing in your CC information at the Frontier Store...I suppose we all trust Steam by now...Though it might be like that pretty girl I met at the bar so many years ago...Should never have trusted her at all...She's was crafty and she was just my type... ;)

I don't think that it's more or less safe. Steam is a big target, and a lot of no-goodnicks try to break into its users accounts (dozens of thousand Steam accounts are being hijacked every month). You do use 2-step Steam authentication, right?

While Frontier is niche enough not to be a big target for phishers and other accounts' hijackers.

Besides, Frontier has been there for over a decade, without credit card leaks scandals (AFAIK). I suppose we all can trust Frontier Store by now as much as we can trust Steam.
