FSS scan: Not working even with keybinds?

I have already looked at some of the posts about the FSS, however I am still at a loss.

I have seen videos of FSS, but I cannot get any interface that looks like it. The closest thing is the surface scanner.

I have FSS mode bound, and am able to turn it on and off. I have the combat/analysis modes bound, and I am able to toggle between them. I have bound the DSS, and am able to open the interface and scan bodies.

I have also bound "Discovery scan" under the FSS controls, but that seems to do nothing. I have tried pressing it in and out of the "DSS" interface.

Please help.

Seeing how you've checked evrything else, all that's left is that you need to be throttled down to zero for the FSS to work.

Okay. So could you verify that:
1) I have to be throttled down.
2) I have to be in analysis mode.
3) I have to be in FSS mode.

If this is correct, do I need to go into any other interface (DSS) and which button am I supposed to pres in this situation?

FSS and DSS are different bindings.

For FSS:
-throttle down
-Analysis mode
-push your FSS mode button (check your bindings, FSS has its own section under controls, i believe default if F to enter FSS mode and G to leave FSS mode)

For DSS:
-Throttle down
-Analysis mode
-needs to be in close proximitiy to the planertary body
-Fire your DSS (from a FIRE GROUP))

I do the above, and all that happens is my ship lights up in a cyan color. How do I open the scanner interface, where I can tune and find planet bodies and stuff? The "Discovery Scan" button doesn't do anything.

You're pressing the wrong button then, the cyan thing is when you turn on Night Vision mode.

Check your bindings.

Make sure that you are pressing the button that opens the FSS mode. It's in the mode switches group of your controller configuration bindings, not in the FSS group.

And of course you should be at 0 throttle in supercruise, not in normal space.
