Type 8
I was debating if it was worthwhile to buy and build out a Type 8 to replace some of the roles I have for my Python. After trying it, I think the smoothness of SCO makes it worth the Engineering dance.

не могу купить товар - не покупается в контейнеры. сами контейнеры еле впихиваются.

It's definitely better if you want to haul stuff... on every point

Not sure I understand, even after Google Translate,
But, you can now buy the Type 8 with credits, and it appears to have even better cargo capacity than the Python making it the king of Medium pad hauling, at least for some configurations.

If you align with a power, you can get a T8 and outfit it with everything at a Stronghold carrier.

Yeah, looks like it can comfortably haul 320T while still maintaining a reasonable jump range, fuel scoop, and enough combat ability to fend off most NPC pirates.
Could probably get to 368T if you go for a "just run away" build and don't need a fuel scoop for the route, but I think the 320T option is more functional.

I enjoy the Type 8 if I am having to move to the smaller stations... anything with a large pad brings out 800 cargo cutter because I like to deliver my bio waste in style

I just made Elite (in Exploration), so I might as well reward myself by getting a new ship.

I'd been thinking of building out a second Python as a dedicated trader rather than as a miner, but I'll give this T8 a tryout instead. Hmm. It has terrible sightlines due to the arms hovering on either side, but it does move smoothly and handles SCO well.

It's kinda ugly, too. But 97 out of 103 passengers from Daedalus in Sol agree that they'd rather be transported on even an ugly ship than say hi to the Thargoids.

I thought I got all the escape pods.... lets call it 102 of 103 if the others survived, there would always be one who disagrees just to disagree anyway

There's always that one guy, sure.

But my six who didn't agree really are with the Thargoids now.
(You *will* get hyperdicted leaving Sol for V886. Adding ECM might be a good idea.)

Its replaced my Python as my medium sized trader due to the stable SCO.

The sco is reason enough to buy it. Nothing like throwing an sco on a python

The extra cargo capability doesn't hurt either.

I mean if you want to haul as much as possible to outposts, there's no better choice now.

Cheaper, carries more, better supercruise, better view, y e l l o w, and some funky engines.

I do hope people realise that this is almost certainly Frontier's answer to "Make the Type-7 a medium", BTW. Same as how the Cobra Mk V is clearly a response to "Unlock the Mk IV".

They just made a better ship overall instead.

Edit: Accidentally hit the c key when writing funky, making for a rather unfortunate typo lol

Should have kept the typo... For style points purely 🤣

Indeed. However I really like them, so couldn't bring myself to do so. Thanks though lol
