Not if you can pay the re-buy cost...You will get your ship back with engineering...If you cannot, you will lose them and get the basic Sidewinder...I believe the game will let you go negative to a certain degree...I am not sure how deep it will let you go before the Sidewinder is all you get...If you go negative then mission payouts will go towards paying it off first...I believe that is how it works...I have never gone negative so I am not entirely sure but that seems logical...

Pythons cost 7,3 Million, it means when im good with Credits it could be no Problem to get back all the Stuff. Negative, you mean Reputation or Crime?

I mean credits...The game will loan you the money for a re-buy up to a certain point...I am not sure just how far in the hole it will let you go...Would not pay to find out with a nicely engineered ship...And yes, if you can pay the re-buy, you get the exact same ship back...

I am exploring and doing exobiology myself right now...I have to say, it is downright peaceful outside of the Bubble...I could love it just for that...The credits are just icing on the cake...As some of us seasoned Americans say...No problemo friend...o7

I've just returned to Colonia after earning some carrier upkeep in the bubble. The sky is amazing, and it's only 2-3 jumps from civilisation to find completely unexplored systems.

I used to base my carrier 5k ly east of the galactic centre, but now I leave it in Colonia and just head out in a random direction to explore.

A Mandalay with a 70 ly range just makes it easier.

I am tether jumping my FC...I go exploring and I have it follow...I will head back when my Tritium is halved, but that may not be for another couple months at the earliest...I have several fully engineered ships that I am trying out for exploring...So far the DBX beats them all, but I have not fully engineered my Mandalay yet and may almost exclusively use it in the future...It is the king of SCO, it almost lands comparably to a DBX and the FOV does seem to be better than the DBX...Yep, I look forward to tricking out my Mandalay...

Just remember the cardinal rule: Never fly without rebuy.

It's why I advise people hang on to their old ships when they buy a new one. That way if you ever screw up and you don't have the money to cover the insurance cost on your fancy ship, you'll always have something else you can fly until you earn the credits. I guess that's a little less relevant now that there's Apex and ground missions, but it's nice to have options.

I love how with a carrier you don't have to worry about running too low on fuel.(while in your other ships.) I was following along with an excellent YouTube video about a great way to gather engineering materials, and it required quite a bit of star jumping. While focused on that, I let my fuel get too low. All I had to do is, I ordered the officer who is the second in command on my carrier, to bring the carrier over to my location. And I was golden!
