1. Check to see if the star system is designated. If not, head to the nav beacon in the star system under your power control.
2. When you arrive, look for a white marker on the radar. The white diamond is the nav beacon, so target it. Then, wait for a while as it will automatically start scanning.
When the scan is complete, remove the target and immediately start super cruise.
4. Open the nav panel and make sure that you have not excluded any signal sources with filters. You should then find power wreckage, so set the navigation.
5. Note that depending on the threat level, hostile power wreckage and search parties may appear.
The information display in the upper right corner will tell you which power's wreckage it is.
If you are not confident of your ability, you may choose not to head for the hostile power.
6. Go to retrieve the wreckage. Pay attention to the radar just to be sure, and watch out for hostile aircraft.
Once recovered, go directly to the nearest station and deliver the pod. (I think the delivery address is Power Contact.)
Other recovered wreckage and black boxes are also good points.
Good luck.
