About overcharged FSD and how to use it on galaxy map...
Hello, i overcharged my FSD with a neutron star (or a white dwarf) and after that i want to use it to jump higher to my target...
But the problem is i don't know how to use it on the galaxy map.
There's several options like BOOSTER FSD then with 3 levels... I don't know what it is and the use...
There's another option where you can choose apparently to jump indeed further throwing some stuffs while jumping. But when i use it the ship doesn't want to jump saying there's not enough fuel whereas i am almost at maximum fuel (16 T).

By the way if someone has informations too about how to use the new SCO mode on the latests FSD because i don't see any key for that in configuration, thx.

You can't plot a route with it, just a single jump.

This is to do with the synthesis options you can find in your right hand panel. Single jump plotting again. Materials required.

Hit your boost button to engage. Hit it again to disengage.

Thx a lot, but i still doesn't get something about the overcharged FSD. Ok, you can't plot a route. But if i want to jump farther just for one jump, how can i know where to jump in my route direction?

funkynutz is correct...Every time I have dwarf star or neutron star boosted, I have had to check my ship stats on the 4 key panel and look up my new max jump range...Then I have had to plot just one jump with that new extended range...I have tried to re-plot to my destination (multiple jumps) with that extended range for my first jump, but it has always defaulted to my normal jump range on that first jump...I would have essentially boosted for nothing...If there is a way to re-plot and have your ship computer utilize that extended range for the first jump on a multi-jump...I have no idea how to do it...

You have to plot it line of sight to your destination system...Basically run out from the system you are in now and pick a star as close to your new max jump range as you can in a straight or semi-straight line to your destination...

If you overcharge your FSD with a neutron star, you want to mark the use jet cone boost on your route settings, this will do two things: 1. Will accommodate for your increased range for that jump, and 2. Will look for more neutron stars to further decrease your travel time, so when you recalculate you may have 2 less jumps you have to do or so, so contrary to what’s been said on here already, you can calculate it into the route

So will that utilize the extended range for that first jump instead of defaulting to normal ship jump range on a multi-jump plot?...

I am guessing CarpoonSan will eventually give me an affirmation...So there ya go...Select 'Use Jet Cone Boost' when you multi-plot and your computer will utilize the extended range on the first jump...So obviously simple to me, yet I did not see it...I so rarely boost jump that it simply did not click...I have 8000 hours and he has 500 hours...We all teach each other...Thank you CarpoonSan...

The other option i forgot that i used is "throw of material" in the galaxy map.
It said to me i haven't enough fuel as i said...
I have also a message when i overcharge my FSD: "Security overcharge limit exceeded".
Is it overcharged yes or not?

Don't sniff scoop the star tails too long, or fry ur FSD.

I think I was sniffing the star tails because I did not connect the dots...Pretty unicorn... ;)

Um. Under route settings mark the Jet Cone Boost box and the the route plotter will take boost stars into account when planning routes and will direct you to overcharge upon entering an appropriate system on you're route to continue.

It will seek out jet cone stars and plot your route using a mix of those and regular stars. I think it even incorporates the need for scooping.

But will it utilize extended range for the first jump if you re-plot and have already overcharged your FSD?...

I don't think so, no. Only one way to find out.

Agreed...We will both soon know...At the very least, I will just be back to square one with a single jump re-plot via line of sight on the Galaxy Map...
