So, while you're pledged to a superpower (sp) you'd be interested in helping this sp's faction in taking control of whatever independent system/station
...unless of course you're more interested in any of the independent powers' perks:
Pranav Antal
+150% Increase in minor faction reputation gain in your power's territory.
+50% Increased Organics Data sales in your power's territory.
+50% Increase in technology commodity profits in your power's territory.
Archon Delaine
+30% Increase in black market profits in your power's territory.
-100% Reduced value on bounties placed on you in your power's territory.
Yuri Grom
+60% Increase in bounty payouts in your power's territory.
+15% Increased Exploration Data sales in your power's territory.
+15% Awarded Trade Bond on sales in your power's territory.
-30% Reduced Weapon Module cost in your power's territory.
Li Yong-Rui
+210% Increased Exploration Data sales in your power's territory.
-100% Reduced Rearm prices in your power's territory.
-100% Reduced Refuel prices in your power's territory.
-100% Reduced Repair prices in your power's territory.
+25% Awarded Trade Bond on sales in your power's territory.
-30% Reduced Weapon Module cost in your power's territory.
Anyways,
just as your actions and missions will change your reputation with system factions, they will also have a slight impact to your reputation to your sp.
If you want the controlling (independent) faction to fail and put 'your own' sp friendly faction in charge, there are several things you can do:
Selling Biowaste to a station will create an 'outbreak' state. These outbreaks must then be
cured by providing medicine. The player can choose to only give medicine to his own faction.
Selling Battle Weapons to hostile stations will raise the posibility of civil unrest.
You can also participate in wars on planets in that system, obviously by joining the proper side :)
Edit:
oh, and donate money to your favoured faction
also, do missions for your favoured faction
and then choose 'Influence' (INF) as mission rewards.
No, the local factions have no bearing on Powerplay.
Powerplay characters are empire/alliance/fed/indie in name, but that doesn't make the stations within their systems empire/alliance/whatever. So you can have an Imperial faction controlling a system, but the system is in a Fed powerplay area.
This is what totally baffled me yesterday. Wed night I logged out in a Fed system, Fed station. Logged in yesterday, pledged to Winters (Fed), and my status went hostile immediately. Opened the PP map to learn the Empire (Torval) is the controlling power.
Confused me no end that the Empire(PP) would be in control of a system aligned with the Fed (based on galaxy map).
