My twitch feed is showing 1400 Eastern, so 1800 UTC or 1900 UTC+1.
Turns out that was pretty accurate.
we have played together once .
So lets try and relate to what this means for exploration .
The galaxy map outside the bubble will be clear to se that a player has colonized it . Be epic to fly out and see . I wonder if we can name the system as our own home .
They also said there will be tools to ad stations and on planets i assume . Thats base building on steroids . Imagine picking a perfect valley for a sttlement .
Yep I remember flying you around a Titan in my ship, amongst other places. Good times.
This is how I envisaged station building/player driven expansion in March 2023 (lifted from my comment on the Buur Pit tinfoil channel):
To simplify everything, imagine a UI where you dock at a station 'A' and talk to the 'space station builder'. You get to pick an uninhabited system on the galmap, and from then on you deliver to space station 'A' (not the system you picked) When enough stuff has been delivered/credits paid, a basic space station is placed in your chosen system. With no facilities. THEN you get to deliver to that station to add the facilities ... 😉
Doing it that way requires 1 additional contact in the space station menu, a new UI where you specify your chosen system, and then you could use the regular marketplace to deliver the required goods.
After the station is placed in your system, any player could be allowed to deliver goods there, and once requirements are met, the station is expanded during the following server reboot
E.g. shipyard/vista/outfitting/etc
It would require very little change to the game itself, but would enable the building of stations
Just think of the CMDR's not planning power play 2.0 involvement . I bet they wana pledge to a superpower now and colinize and newly discovered system , With tools to place stations and sttlements were they want .
( SURLY NOT ANYWHERE RIGHT ? }
If we get to do that with 100% Freedom just think of the cannon settlement views and space station window views of chosen planets .
If thats the case then the variations are gona be amazing
