There is a journal file that outputs most of what is happening in the game. And external plugins use it quite well, to update INARA with all your statistics, or with market data, for example.

So, yeah, just let it go.

I'm writing a program now which interprets the data in the journal file for a live display on a second screen. (Currently it's extracting messages from other cmdrs and my combat percentage.)

There's a lot of stuff in the journal ... when the ship enters and exits supercruise, jumps to another system, docks and undocks, gets targeted, attacked, etc. Also all the current missions, the nav route with star classes, you name it.

It probably wouldn't be hard to hook those outputs up to some kind of hardware.

I use Tacview for DCS and would be very cool to use with Elite Dangerous. Just checking online and the Developer has made a comment on it.
