The Diamondback is primarily an Explorer, though it can fight (but is outclassed by dedicated combat vessels like the VIper Mk3 and MK4). Good jump range and thus good at doing delivery work as well as being quite a good smuggling vessel.
The Viper MK4 is primarily a tough combat vessel for bounty hunting, with good enough jump range and cargo capacity for courier and transport jobs, low scale pirating and rare goods smuggling. Pretty much a multirole ship like the Cobra MKIV, only with more of a focus on combat.
Keelback is a pure trade vessel. If enjoy space trucking and the occasional deliver mission this is the ship for you. If you want to do anything else.... get another ship.
Has a great cockpit view too and a great jump range, as i like to switch between roles on a whim.....
I've been using it for combat, primarily bounty hunting. Outfitted well; it holds its own vs medium outfitted ships.
I've gotten a lot more out of the scout in combat vs my previously maxed cobra.
For the low cost, you may as well outfit it and give it a spin.
